( it's still weird to talk about jianying as her mom. she can really only do it under cover of sarcasm, where the words don't feel quite as real. )

It's a long story.

( which isn't to say that she won't tell it. it's just that the phrase tends to be an opportunity for people who don't really care to say 'oh no, that's okay' and back out of the conversation. a long story tends to be an emotional one, and daisy knows all too well that most people just don't give a shit about other people's emotions.

She tried to declare war. Or, no, she did technically declare war but the war sort of... stopped, I guess, when she died.
