So Ein was just like him then? That's...honestly a bit of a relief. It makes him feel like less of a burden. Still a burden, but slightly less so.]
I did, yes. Currently I live with three other individuals, but two of them were already established here before I arrived.

[ It was certainly chaotic, being both the first wave and so utterly alone, but Ein thinks of himself as fortunate as well. ]
I was able to meet someone who helped me greatly when I first arrived, otherwise I can only imagine how much more difficult it all would have been.
[ A thoughtful pause, then: ]
What kind of people are they? Your housemates, if you don't mind my asking.

[Now here was the task of accurately describing what kind of people they were to a stranger. Hard to do, especially when Slaine still doesn't really feel like he knows them.]
They're nice people. [Sort of.] Mikazuki is...aloof and hard to read, but I've been told he doesn't mean any harm. Hush is also quiet but is kind. Euphie seems to show a lot of concern for everyone who lives with her. She has good intentions and has allowed me to live with her and the others.

[ There's no real surprise in Ein's voice, though he does lift his eyebrows briefly at the sheer coincidence of it all. ]
We were enemies once. I don't pretend to understand him, but he's as resilient as he is loyal. I do not know the others, but it sounds as though you have a good foundation to do well here.

[That's...not exactly comforting to hear, even though it's spoken in the past tense. It's only after the question slips him that he regrets it.]
I apologize...it's not my place to ask.

[ Being that Ein has no real sense of self, so personal questions don't bother him. He keeps walking, his explanation conversational. ]
It's a fortunate thing, I think. To be considered one of Mikazuki's people.
no subject
[Now that is something Slaine can relate to. He'd only just come from the midst of a war between worlds, after all.]
And who are Mikazuki's people?
no subject
[ Ein pauses, actually managing to look perplexed. ]
Has he not spoken of them?
no subject
We haven't spoken much...

[ Ein glances up at the night sky, listening to the quiet, peaceful bustle of the city. ]
It's still strange to me at times. That here, it is not a crime for me to exist. That I am never looked at or treated differently and can simply be.
It's as though I've finally caught my breath when I did not previously realize I was drowning.

[Now that's a feeling Slaine can relate to, especially since it's how he's been feeling for years. He's still adjusting to it, simply being. Needless to say it's hard. He still feels like he's drowning. He's never really stopped, not since he moved to Mars.]
...I don't know if I'll ever catch mine.
