[Whoop, there it is.
Yona nearly fumbles her milkshake, but manages to keep a grip on it with one hand as she brings up the other to her forehead. Ow. Ow. She's never gotten a headache just from eating before...]
Why is it...?!
no subject
Ah- um, quick, lick the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue! It'll make it go away.
[Yes it sounds stupid but just listen to him okay he knows what he's talking about.]
no subject
But it's not like Yona has any idea what else to do, and he knew what milkshakes were, so... he probably knows? She tries what he suggests for that reason only, and to her surprise... it works!
Like.
Genuine surprise.]
...that's so weird.
no subject
[No really, he knows. He knows the science behind it too, but she probably doesn't want to hear about that so...he'll keep it to himself.]
If you want to avoid brain freeze you have to eat or drink cold things slowly.
no subject
That's not fair! They taste so good, how am I supposed to eat them slowly?
no subject
Well...the trick is to avoid having it hit the roof of your mouth. If you can keep cold things away from it, the speed of consumption doesn't really matter.
1/2
[SHE'S GOING TO TRY IT.]
2/2
Mmf'r.
[That's "unfair" in "tongue-stuck-to-the-roof-of-my-mouth" language.]

If you sip at it you'll enjoy the flavour more.
no subject
...it's so yummy it makes me want to drink lots and lots of it, though.
[s i g h s]
I wonder who made the first milkshake, anyway...? [Who looked at all of the ingredients and decided, "Ah yes, I'm going to put this in a blender"?]
no subject
[Because life is shit or it has been for quite some time, but getting to have a milkshake again after so many years makes things seem a little brighter. That could also have to do with his company as well but y'know.]
no subject
[Because it's not only given them the chance to drink them, period, it's also given them the chance to drink them together.
She continues to sip at the shake.]
I never knew there were so many different types of food, though... we didn't have these in Kouka.
no subject
[If there's one thing Slaine can be grateful for when it came to being dragged around the globe by his father, it was the opportunity to try all sorts of different foods.]
What do you have in Kouka?
no subject
[Since they've gotten so many people from all over the world gathered into one place, maybe now they'll have the chance to try them all. Yona hopes so, anyway - it would be nice if they could.]
We had lots of things... my favorite was chicken rice porridge, though. What's your favorite food?
no subject
[It's not the first time he's been asked such a question, but it has been awhile. He goes quiet at that, staring at the straw of his milkshake for a moment. Memories of his father come flooding back the more he thinks about it.]
...I think it would have to be peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
no subject
[Huh. But if it's his favorite, it must be good; people don't pick gross-tasting foods as their favorites. Especially not when they already know about doughnuts and milkshakes, which he has already demonstrated are delicious.]
Do you think we can find some here?
no subject
[Then again, he shouldn't be too surprised at that. People were from all over, after all.]
Probably not...but I'm sure I can make you one in the future, if you'd really like to try it.
no subject
[Yona brightens up at that, and outright beams at him. She'd clap her hands together excitedly if she wasn't holding a milkshake.]
That would be great! I'd really like to try it.
