[open] the misadventures of princess moron
Who: Yona (
cutefaced) & you! With some closed prompts for Mephisto (
meinwaifu), Hak (
bodyguarding), and Jae-Ha (
razzledazzles)
What: Yona meets some people and takes a dog for a walk. (Spoilers: the dog is a demon.)
When: Various times (with at least one prompt set before Jae-Ha's No Good Very Bad Day)
Where: Various locations
Warning(s): Nothing yet? I will edit if that changes.
open - olympia;
[Being allowed to wander around on her own is still taking some getting used to.
Yona doesn't live in a castle anymore, and she can come and go as she pleases - provided that Hak and Jae-Ha don't catch her getting up to mischief, anyway. There's something almost exhilarating about the freedom, but it leaves her a little anxious, too - what if she does get in over her head?
But she'll never figure anything out if she sits around at home all day, so into town she goes.
The theater and market districts are what catch her eye the most, and you might run into her examining jewelry and clothes at the market, or admiring the performers near the theater.]
Wow...
[Regardless of where you do find her, though, she's bright-eyed and excited. This is all so cool.
...but, uh, she's also a sitting duck for pickpockets, so maybe someone better stop her from making eyes at all the pretty clothes and pretty people before she winds up in some kind of trouble. Or, you know, tell her to stop staring at them, if they're the object of her attention at this time.]
open 2.0 - thesa station;
[Honestly, it was only a matter of time before she came back up here.
She's among the stasis pods again, seeking certain familiar people. She remembers seeing Soo-won asleep in one of these pods, so she knows he's safe here somewhere, but she'd feel a little better about things if she could see her father's face, too.
So as the hours tick by, she wanders the pods, carefully examining the people who are still asleep. It's not unlikely that she'll get distracted, though - you might find her gazing longingly at Soo-won's face if she stumbles upon his pod again, or find her looking curiously at an assortment of interesting-looking people that she doesn't seem to recognize, or even find her lingering someone you recognize (especially if your castmate is attractive, because she likes pretty faces).]
...they really saved a lot of people, didn't they...
[Maybe you'll even catch her mumbling to herself!]
closed to mephisto, hak, and jae-ha;
[So, back on Olympia. The weather's not too bad today, which is probably a good thing, because it's hard to walk a dog in the rain. And Yona sure has found a dog somewhere, and she sure has, uh, adopted it.
I'm so sorry to everyone involved in this.
Anyway, they're out for a walk, and she's debating heading to the market district to look for more ribbons to tie around his neck. This is what she's spending Hak's hard-earned silver on, isn't it...]
What do you think, boy? Do you like blue or green better? ...bark once for blue and twice for green!
[Can he even see color? She doesn't know.
Anyway, they're bound to run into someone she knows eventually, but for now she's just enjoying the nice day and occasionally crouching down to give Mephisto a pet or two because he's just too cute in this form (and also she doesn't know he's not a real dog).]

[I'm not even sure how we're going to do this reveal but we joked about ~breaking a curse~ so you know what? Here we go.
It's late, they've both tuckered themselves out wandering around, and now they're back at Yona's place. It's late and she's a little tired, but there's always time for snuggling with a dog, so she's petting him and -
She leans in and drops a kiss on top of his head!]
What a day, huh, boy?

It's only a short walk, and once they arrive, she reaches out with her free hand to brush her fingertips against the glass just above his face.]
Soo-won, meet Slaine. Slaine, Soo-won.
[...she says, as if the slumbering man can even hear them.]
no subject
It's nice to meet you.
[It might be pointless to say as much, but it's more for Yona's sake he does than anything else.]
If I may ask...what is Soo-won to you, Yona?
no subject
[Oh, man. Admitting it is embarrassing - she can admit it to Hak, who she's known forever, and to the servants back in the palace, who have watched her swoon over him for literal years, but talking about it to Slaine is... harder than it ought to be? Huh.]
He's one of the most important people in my life. [That's a relatively neutral way of explaining it, at least. Her gaze stays locked on his sleeping face as she speaks.] ...when my mother died, he was the person who made sure that I could smile again. He's always been there when I've needed him most.
...it's really strange, for him not to be here right now.
no subject
Princess Asseylum was there for me when my father died and put me under her protection...so I understand. It hurts, to see someone you care about behind glass like this...
[But it wouldn't be that way forever. He'd been promised she'd wake up eventually. He'd wait, no matter how long that'd take.]
They're going to wake up. Soo-won and Princess Asseylum.
[He just isn't sure who'd wake up first.]
no subject
...it does.
[She can admit that, at least, since he's admitted that it hurts. It's going into detail that she has to be more mindful of.
Slaine continues speaking, and she's grateful that he does, because she was absolutely about to word vomit about Soo-won.]
Yes. They definitely will. The... people who saved us promised, so they will.
no subject
You're right.
[If he can't believe in himself he can at least try to believe in her.]
no subject
As long as they can keep believing in that, they'll get through, she thinks. But waiting is hard, and knowing there's nothing they can do to speed up the process is even harder. She knows that all too well.]
...I just hope it's soon.
no subject
[Each day that he had to go without seeing her only added to the subtle desperation he's always felt. Without her in his life, it was hard to see a reason for existing in the first place. She wasn't entirely gone though - just asleep - and like Sleeping Beauty he'd have to wait until she awoke, even if that meant she might be this way for quite some time.]
no subject
[Her gaze stays locked on Soo-won in the pod.]
If we talk to them, do you think they can hear us?
[The answer to that is probably no, but hey, you never know until you try or something cheesy like that.]
no subject
I don't know but I'd like to think they can.
no subject
[She knows very well how lonely it feels to wake up on the space station and not know if anyone else made it through the Storm. If they can recall even a small scrap of these conversations, then... maybe they wouldn't feel so alone.]
no subject
At least they won't be alone when they do wake up. We'll be there for them.
no subject
[Her gaze follows his to their hands. ...it's funny, isn't it? That such a simple thing as this can make them strong enough to keep waiting? But it's not a bad thing at all.]
We'll be there for each other. And once they wake up, all four of us can get to know each other, too... I bet Soo-won would really like you.
no subject
Do you think so?
[Was he really likeable?]
no subject
[She says it easily, and nods just as easily, because she believes it, and she meets his eyes with smile.]
Soo-won is a really amazing person. [She says, because at this moment, she doesn't yet know about the Spoilers.] He's incredibly kind, and he can get along with anyone if he tries hard enough. But you're also kind, so I'm sure he would like you a lot. He wouldn't have to try.
no subject
I'm glad you think so.
no subject
Mm. ...hey, did you want to go see Princess Asseylum again, or...?
no subject
no subject
[She smiles.]
Back down to Olympia. Unless there was anything else you needed to do up here?
no subject
No, there's nothing else I need to tend to.
no subject
In that case, let's go.
no subject
You said you had bodyguards earlier...why is that?
no subject
...um, that's... it's because my father worries a lot.
no subject
[Either that or she must be someone important. Or she has an over protective father...or both.]

[LITTLE DOES SHE KNOW.
Also she needs to stop talking about her world in present tense like it hasn't been destroyed by the Storm.]
But even so, the king's family is—
