[The morning of the blast, Bellamy is on the outskirts of the market. It’s Unity Day, which is a strange thing to think about, trapped on another planet, but he can’t get it out of his head. He’s picking over the fruit at a stall when the blast hits, and for the barest second, everything seems to stop. Then there’s panic, shrieking and crying and chaos as people struggle to get away. Without thinking, Bellamy forces his way through the crowd in the opposite direction, heading towards the sound.
By the time he makes it to the market center, any hint of the purple smoke is gone. There’s not even any damage, no obvious injuries. There’s no way that wasn’t a bomb, so where are the casualties?
Bellamy stops whoever’s closest, reaching for their arm.]
What the hell happened?

[Later, once things begin to settle, Bellamy does whatever he can to help, from dropping off supplies to escorting the sick back to the Sanctuary. He knows enough about plagues to wrap a cloth around his mouth and nose, but otherwise, he doesn’t look particularly afraid of contamination, guiding others by the elbow or slipping an arm around their shoulders.]
