It doesn't have to be anything elaborate. Just submerging yourself in the water and scrubbing yourself for a bit will do it.
[ he fishes out some soap and shampooo from the bag, handing them over to her. ] The hair... [ he pauses, trailing off a little. okay, that might not be as easy. ]
no subject
Is that really all? [ she glances down at herself, seeing the dirt which has sunk into the cracks of the shown skeleton parts. if it's as easy as he says then she has nothing to worry about.
lifting her hair up with her free hand, she raises an eyebrow. ]
What?

[ at the end of the day, they're still going to be living in the woods, not attending some fancy ball.
though when she lifts her hair, it just makes it all the more obvious how much junk has managed to plant itself in there. he reaches over, picking out a twig. ]
I'm uncertain exactly what material your hair is made of, but it likely needs some maintenance all the same. [ though really, he's not sure if shampoo will even do the trick. ] That might be trickier.
no subject
[ There's no need for her to be worried about making herself so clean that the metal plates will be shining. That takes a little bit off of her mind about having a bath now. ]
How so? I[ n regards to it being trickier. All she needs to do is give it a good wash, right? But that's only because she doesn't know how bad it's gotten. ]
no subject
Have you truly never washed your hair before? [ no, she doesn't even have to confirm it at this point. ] ...it would be better to leave something like this to Zero, but that isn't an option right now...
[ since she's back in a pod on thesa, sadly. ]
Very well. This is something you'll need to know going forward, so I have no choice but to demonstrate for you.
no subject
[ There has never been a need for her to clean her hair. Most of the time it's fine by its self because, well, other people have helped with her hair here and there, but it has never gotten this bad, too. ]
... I don't see why I have to know, but fine. Demonstrate away.

[ which he realizes doesn't necessarily apply to an android, but whatever. ]
Follow me. [ down to the river they go. ]
no subject
[ and androids ... and machines ... and any living being.
giving a half-hearted shrug, she'll follow after him. ]
no subject
[ actually, he's not sure that's really the case... she doesn't do a very good job of it if that's what she's going for. ]
Either way, it would be a shame if your hair was damaged because it wasn't properly cared for.
no subject
[ but that's going to take so much effort and learning for her to do. ]
... Some people have complimented me on my hair, so I suppose that's true.
no subject
[ he pauses at that, glancing back at her. ]
Well, it is attractive enough. [ that's about as high as praise from him gets so... just take it. ]
no subject
[ which is nice. she'll take it without any complaints besides just pointing it out. ]
no subject
[ he'll at least manage a small chuckle. ] So you can at least be sure I'm being genuine.
no subject
[ teach her, sensei, about how people can easily lie just to be 'nice' to people. ]
no subject
No, more often than not they aren't. People will always lie, cheat and steal to get what they want. You'd do well to remember that.
[ though thankfully before he can start filling her head with more cynicism, they arrive at the water. ] For now, just wet your hair. [ she can do that much on her own, he assumes. ]
no subject
[ She doesn't understand their way of thinking and how could she? It isn't like she was designed to think like that. Giving a single nod, A2 will walk into the water and lower her head down into it. SHe makes sure to dunk her head in enough that every fiber of it is no longer dry. ]
no subject
[ he watches her douse her hair, and part of him wonders if that's perhaps enough. but no... at some point she has to understand how to properly take care of her hair, so he removes the bottle of shampoo from his bag and opens it. ]
I'm only doing this once, so pay attention. You should be able to do this yourself in the future.
[ and that said, he'll proceed to lather his hands with shampoo, slowly so she can see exactly what's happening, before beginning to apply it to her scalp.
...this isn't weird, not at all... ]
no subject
[ She only ever needs to be told once and then it's store in her memory bank, basically. That means Archer has no need to worry about her forgetting how to do this. The main problem will just be her actually going through with it. ]
I'll be able to do this just fine in the future.
[ What he uses, the shampoo, makes her curious when she see's it lather up and she shifts her head just a little when she feels him touch her hair. ]
no subject
Hm, good. It'd be a shame if you got split ends.
[ is synthetic hair capable of that? who knows. ]
no subject
Split ends? Is that something hair does if it's uncared for?
