open!
Who: Misa Amane (
lifespanned) & anybody!
What: Your girl is suspicious of the fugitives, info gathers, and sucks at cleaning.
When: Various times in October
Where: Around Olympia
Warning(s): none for now!
a. suspicions
[ As soon as the announcement had gone out about the explosion and the fugitives, Misa went into town as quickly as she could. There were things she had to confirm - things she had to know about this incident, and all she can think of is what would Light do in a situation like this? Try and find the truth, try and take necessary steps in case people needed to be judged.
Her presence in the hectic downtown of Olympia is not of that to aid - as she arrives she has no protective gear on - but to study the faces of the fugitives on the posters littering Olympia's walls. She lurks around the block in order to commit their names and faces to memory, and in her focus, isn't too inconspicuous about it. If only she had something to write on...!! ]
b. info gathering/rumors
[ More prepared than her first attempt to info gather, she sneaks around the downtown of Olympia to try and listen in on rumors - her hair and makeup are done completely differently than her normal gothic image, and she finds no problems chatting up almost every person she comes across. You are no exception, and while she approaches you she tucks some loose strands of fine blonde hair back into her fancy up-do, doing what she can to appear as distraught as possible. ]
Isn't it so terrible what happened? Misa can hardly believe it...
[ Rather than flat out ask for information, she also wants to get a sense of the morals of people around town, and would vastly prefer to "accidentally" unveil what people know, rather than force it out of them. ]
c. clean-up
[ You can also catch her attempting (poorly) to help with the clean up effort, a mask around her face and being very dramatic about the whole cleaning up business. Every piece of contaminated food that she has to throw away, she holds as far away from her petite body as possible, only holding them with her index finger and thumb. ]
Ahh!! So gross... [ Due to her desire to be touching this contaminated debris and food for as little time as possible, she's pretty much haphazardly throwing it away in any direction she can. ] Ewww.
[ One piece of rotten food in particular is flung from her small hand right into the back of a fellow refugee, not that she notices since she's getting rid of it all as quickly as possible. ]
( her plotting comment can be found here! if you have anything else in mind you can always hit me up at
ishimarus! )

Fortunately Lukas doesn't react negatively when there's all too uncomfortable sound that echoes briefly when the rotten piece of food hits him in the middle of his back. Slowly beginning to peel its way off of his clothing before it makes a wet sound against the floor. He looks over his shoulder to register just what it is—or what it once was—before eyeing the girl who is tiptoeing around the area carefully.
W... why is she here?
IS SHE JUST GONNA THROW MORE AROUND WITHOUT LOOKING??? ]
If it is too much for you to handle then please ask for assistance. [ The words leave his mouth sternly, but he doesn't appear upset. ] M'am. Please. Don't throw any more. Please.
no subject
Did Misa hit you? [ She looks taken aback, eyes and mouth going wide. While she had been haphazardly throwing this around, it didn't occur to her that it'd maybe hit some of the people nearby...of course she didn't mean to do that, so when she bends over to pick up the next piece of trash, she does it more carefully. ] Misa didn't mean to! Hopefully it won't stain...
[ In fact, let her just. Come over there to inspect this guy more closely, while tossing some trash in it's correct place (albeit still with calculated caution). ]
no subject
There's no need to worry, as long as you learn from this little mistake.
[ He puts a lot of emphasis on little. ]
But if you want to keep your hands clean, I suggest you use a broom... [ Which he currently has occupied in his own hands, to which he holds it out for her to take. ]
no subject
Aw, thanks! You're a real life saver. [ This guy seems like the gentlemanly type - and it's always nice when guys go out of their way to do stuff for her, whether or not she prompts it. ] Don't you want a broom too, though?
[ Maybe she can prolong not having to clean anymore by searching for another one... ]
no subject
[ Though he can see right through her... you really tried it. Ultimately he'd gather all that and leave but if she's looking to avoid cleaning then a part of him is encouraged to at least make that come true. ]
Though I doubt I can do it all in one trip, so how about accompanying me? [ He'll just... have her carry the smallest bag. ]
no subject
[ She doesn't pick up on the fact that he's letting her off the hook purposefully, but is just glad to be relieved from (direct) garbage duty. She holds the broom close to her chest while she moves closer to the other's side, willing to follow his lead immediately. ]
Misa can't lift a lot, but Misa will help how she can!! Where's this "appropriate location"...
[ Because these platform boots were not made for walking long distances. ]
no subject
[ While she presses closer he moves to gather the several bags of trash they have been able to collect so far. It all being relatively light in his perspective but well aware that for a young woman of her stature that it may be too heavy. So, as stated previously, he's handing her the smallest and lightest bag of the lot. ] Is this alright? If it's too heavy feel free to tell me.
Unfortunately we are unable to burn anything, but there is a group of gryphons the city is using to transport trash to a location suitable. So we'll be heading to those creatures. [ Which should only like... kill one of her ankles. Maybe. ]

... Of course that doesn't mean he's not going to do exactly that to other people. Especially when they're just throwing the trash any which way.
Being rather short, the discarded food hits him in the upper back, between his shoulders. It's enough to make him go 'oof' and lurch forward a bit. ] What the ‐
[ he turns to the culprit, angrily shaking his fists. ] Oi, you! You can't just throw the food anywhere you please! That's not cleaning it up!
no subject
It was an accident!! It's not like I'm trying to throw it at you...
[ Huff. Maybe if they didn't want to get hit with things, they shouldn't stand so close to her!! She only seems mildly miffed at being scolded, continuing to toss things, albeit at a lower trajectory in attempt to keep from escalating the issue. ]
no subject
[ He wipes at the spot the trash landed, or at least tries to. And then he watches her toss things again, frowning in disapproval. Clearly she needs someone to nag at her right? ]
I said watch where you're throwing or it makes no difference that you picked it up in the first place!
no subject
Well geez, sorry. They said to just move it off the street!! [ Which is, sort of what she's accomplishing by moving it the few meters from it's original place to...the sidewalk. ] They're just going to come sweep it all up at the end, anyway.
[ So what difference does it make. She crouches, balancing on her (very not work friendly) platform boots with her knees completely bent in order to more deliberately gather less slimy looking pieces in her delicate hands - but she's not happy about it. ]
It's not even going to stain that bad, okay?
no subject
At least look to make sure you're getting it there! [ He's not convinced she's not just tossing it to other piles of garbage that need clearing off the street. He's very Skeptical of her work, apparently. Part of it may be because he's grudging on that garbage she threw at him. He turns to his own gross pile of trash and picks at it idly. ]
Maybe not, but it's going to smell! It already smells bad enough without getting on my clothes too.
no subject
We're going to have to shower after all this anyway... [ Even saying this, she knows she would hate to have garbage on her clothes. The ones she's wearing now are deliberately ones she cared the least about getting dirty. ] I'm sorry, alright? Misa isn't used to doing stuff like this.
[ Her apology is less forced this time, now that she's considered the thought of getting garbage thrown at her in retaliation. ]
Misa won't do it again.

It's hard work being boundlessly optimistic.
Misa's approach has her smiling automatically at first, but her expression soon becomes sympathetic as she looks around]
This place seemed so nice... It's always the places that deserve it the least that gt hit the hardest like this it seems, huh?
Not that any place deserves it, but in the middle of nowhere where no one would get hurt would be better than a town, you know? I don't understand the point of messages being sent like that...
no subject
[ While she doesn't agree with that kind of behavior, she does understand it. Sometimes the only way people were able to make statements was through large, public offenses. But it seemed weird that no one even got killed in such a public attack. ] But I'm not even sure what the message really is, though. They didn't really make any demands...
Isn't that like, really strange?
no subject
[She hums thoughtfully and nods in agreement though.] There haven't been any demands or anything. Someone who'd go through all this trouble to be heard sure didn't say anything substantial.
Maybe it's a prelude of more to come? 'Look what we did, think of what we'll do next'?
no subject
[ People didn't just blow up other people for no reason. There's something both very sickening and yet, in some way, very familiar about the thought of making a statement through something like this, at least for her. ]
I hate to say it, but maybe it'll just take more time to understand what they're doing? [ Of course, it'd be terrible for more people to get hurt, but how else are they supposed to magically know what they're up to? ] Oh! Unless they all get caught first.
no subject
[Or something like that. She glances at Misa curiously; her tone reflects that, being neither judgmental or accusing, just asking:] Do you believe all those people listed were really behind it? Accidentally, or deliberately?
no subject
[ Some of her friends were among the accused, so she doesn't really know what to think of it - her delicate finger comes to poke under her chin as she looks up in thought. ]
They were probably involved somehow. But what do you mean by 'accidentally'? [ Like - getting tricked into doing it? Her brows furrow. ] Can weapons like that really be delivered by accident?

b.
Huh? Yeah, it's fucked up. People are really sick.
no subject
[ Yet? But who knows what kind of sickness was in that explosion. She isn't sure what to think of the people accused of aiding in the attack - it's all so disorienting that it's hard to pull truth from rumor. ]
Did you know any of those people that they announced? The ones they said delivered the weapons...
no subject
no subject
[ She feigns ignorance, having already considered this possibility - but is curious how the other feels about the accountability of such people. ]
Then - can they really be punished? If they didn't mean to do it, I mean.
a!
Thankfully, he's rarely caught without something to draw on—a canvas, a spare notepad, a scrap of paper folded in the back of his pocket—and today is no exception. He has a small sketchbook, most of his notes in the form of quick sketches and doodles. It's only by chance he lifts his attention from the page, noticing a likeminded soul nearby. Eventually, ]
Is there something you're looking for?
[ She's observing the walls quite intently... ]
no subject
I'm just trying to see who was responsible... [ There's people mentioned that she knows, people that she hadn't exactly considered the criminal type. But if any of them were at fault, she needs to know what they all look like. ] Is that what you're doing too?
[ Wanting to draw attention away from her own behavior, she gives a small gesture to the paper in his hands. ]
