open!
Who: Misa Amane (
lifespanned) & anybody!
What: Your girl is suspicious of the fugitives, info gathers, and sucks at cleaning.
When: Various times in October
Where: Around Olympia
Warning(s): none for now!
a. suspicions
[ As soon as the announcement had gone out about the explosion and the fugitives, Misa went into town as quickly as she could. There were things she had to confirm - things she had to know about this incident, and all she can think of is what would Light do in a situation like this? Try and find the truth, try and take necessary steps in case people needed to be judged.
Her presence in the hectic downtown of Olympia is not of that to aid - as she arrives she has no protective gear on - but to study the faces of the fugitives on the posters littering Olympia's walls. She lurks around the block in order to commit their names and faces to memory, and in her focus, isn't too inconspicuous about it. If only she had something to write on...!! ]
b. info gathering/rumors
[ More prepared than her first attempt to info gather, she sneaks around the downtown of Olympia to try and listen in on rumors - her hair and makeup are done completely differently than her normal gothic image, and she finds no problems chatting up almost every person she comes across. You are no exception, and while she approaches you she tucks some loose strands of fine blonde hair back into her fancy up-do, doing what she can to appear as distraught as possible. ]
Isn't it so terrible what happened? Misa can hardly believe it...
[ Rather than flat out ask for information, she also wants to get a sense of the morals of people around town, and would vastly prefer to "accidentally" unveil what people know, rather than force it out of them. ]
c. clean-up
[ You can also catch her attempting (poorly) to help with the clean up effort, a mask around her face and being very dramatic about the whole cleaning up business. Every piece of contaminated food that she has to throw away, she holds as far away from her petite body as possible, only holding them with her index finger and thumb. ]
Ahh!! So gross... [ Due to her desire to be touching this contaminated debris and food for as little time as possible, she's pretty much haphazardly throwing it away in any direction she can. ] Ewww.
[ One piece of rotten food in particular is flung from her small hand right into the back of a fellow refugee, not that she notices since she's getting rid of it all as quickly as possible. ]
( her plotting comment can be found here! if you have anything else in mind you can always hit me up at
ishimarus! )

I guess we will. But still... [ Now he has to do laundry too. Or would he have had to do that anyway too? Well, whatever. He's about to scoff at her when she apologizes. Now he actually feels a bit bad for being so harsh.
At least he actually hasn't considered tossing trash back at her. Yet. ]
... Alright. I'm not used to it either. But be more careful next time.

Seems like most people aren't... [ Big sigh. To be honest, she'd rather just veer off topic to avoid getting told what to do again. She continues to not look at him, picking some dirt out from underneath her glossy nails. ] What'd you do before? Since you said you're not used to this.

He's busied himself with some garbage at least, moving it to the proper place with his nose crinkled. He pauses as she starts conversation with him and freezes for a moment. Right. Normal people talk to each other. ]
I was an apprentice mage. But I decided to take a break from that for a while... [ He peeks at her over his shoulder. ] What about you?
no subject
[ She has friends that are into the occult... so that's what she's likening him to in her mind. When he looks towards her, she meets his gaze, resting her elbows on her knees since she's still crouching. ]
Misa was a model - for magazines and stuff like that. So I never did things like this...
no subject
And now a supposed model is? Wow, he's stepped up in the world. ]
No wonder. Someone like that wouldn't stoop to picking up garbage. But I guess... that speaks well of you being willing to help.
[ She gains some Approval from Waver. Not that she wanted it ... ]

Well, Misa has a pure heart! [ Arguable?? She's killed hundreds, if not thousands. Not to mention that she only picked up this job in hopes of finding some more useful information. But that's image control for you. ] I really don't like things like this, but I can't just sit around...
[ She could've, would've, if not for the concerning situation of the accused refugees. But she smiles brightly nonetheless behind her mask, with her eyes crinkling - determined to keep up her well-meaning image. ]
You probably don't know any sort of trash picking up spells, huh?
no subject
A pure heart, huh? [ He doesn't know if he can really believe that anyone has a pure heart in the first place. But if someone were to, wouldn't it be a cute girl? Probably.... He won't try and dispute it right now, anyway. He has no reason to. ] Yeah... I didn't want to just sit around either. But I guess this was the only job available at the time.
[ or the only one he was qualified for. Or something. ]
... [ sigh ] No, I don't know any spells like that.
no subject
[ She seems disappointed. It'd be cool to see some magic, but it'd be even cooler if that magic involved making this go by faster. ] What's your specialty, then? [ All magicians were supposed to have one, right!!! ] Oh! But I guess maybe it's not polite to ask that without knowing your name first...
no subject
Huh? Oh... my name is Waver Velvet. [ He pauses to look at her, his shoulders slumping a bit again. ] As an apprentice I don't really have a specialty. But I suppose right now it would be something like... memory manipulation.
[ That and alchemy are almost all that he's any good at, oops. ]
no subject
Waver Velvet? That's a super unique name. [ Sounds so chic and cool...she likes it!! Befitting for a magician to have a cool name, at least in her opinion. ] I'm Misa! Nice to meet you, Waver Velvet.
[ Her voice bounces back up to it's sing-songy tone, pausing for a few moments to try and figure out what memory manipulation meant. ]
You won't make me forget your name or anything, right? Misa has a super good memory!
no subject
As he sets some trash down in a proper spot, he looks at her and shakes his head. ]
No, I don't have any reason to do anything to your memory. It might be difficult anyway, if your memory is really that good.
[ That's his awkward way of trying to compliment her, even if he could probably give her some false memories if he tried. ]
no subject
[ And she's met tons. The little self acceptance he goes through in a few moments is endearing in a way, and she thinks to herself that if she keeps this up, there's no way she'll get nagged at again. ]
But powers like that...that's pretty cool! It's like you're a comic book character or something. Where I'm from, no one has abilities like memory control, or anything else, so Misa never thought she'd meet a real life magician.
no subject
I've never heard anyone say that before.
[ Mostly people just ignore him, probably before they even learn his name. He shrugs a little, turning his face from her to hide some of that flusteredness. ]
Magic might exist in your world, and you just don't know it. That's how it is in mine.
no subject
[ She guesses it's probably similar to how her own abilities had to be hidden from the world... but the concept of magicians like this existing in her own world seems so strange, even if she herself abides by the same rules. ]
Were you like, not allowed to tell anyone?
no subject
[ He shrugs. He doesn't know what kind of world she comes from, but it seems a fair enough possibility. ]
It's just not something regular people can understand. So it's best we don't talk about it openly.
no subject
[ And that would never be good. People with special abilities should only use it for justice (most of the time). ]
Misa gets it. Some things are just better kept secrets.
no subject
[ He's done an underhanded thing or two, but it was for the greater good in the end! There are those that would use the powers for more nefarious things, that's for sure. He doesn't want to think about it.
So he nods in agreement. ]
Something like that.
