she only seems terrifying and shady
Who: Ikora (
walkingthevoid)
What: investigation, rumour collecting
When: backdated-ish to the 3rd, same time/right after her network post
Where: near the site of blast
Warning(s): none as of yet, will update if needed
[True to her word, Ikora is near the site when she makes her post to the network, waiting in a visible spot where she can also see people approach. She's overheard some hunters talking about the Shady Man who supposedly set this in motion, but it's not enough to go on. She needs more if she's going to take action.]
[ooc anyone is free to tag in and/or hmu and I will post a starter below!]

[ Bruce is easy enough to spot, dressed in the Institute's colours. His hair has a little more grey in it than strictly would be for his age — either people exploit that as a weakness, thinking him older than he is, or it grants him a little extra authority. ]
[ He's not hiding, just in conversation with someone, taking down notes in shorthand of what they're telling him. Just heads shaking, people in shock. Bruce closes his book, tucks it into his pocket, and heads over to her. ]
Miss Vanguard Ikora, I presume?
[ His glance is calm, assessing, as he holds out his hand to shake hers. ]

[She takes his hand and shakes it, firm and confident and brief before she pulls away to clasp poth hands in front of her.]
And what should I call you?
no subject
Alan Foster. I'm from the chemistry department, just having a look around here.

Have you found anything particularly intriguing?
no subject
[ It's intriguing to him. This was a very, very well-kept secret to have not a warning. ]
no subject
It can be, in the right context. Is there truly no tangible evidence that you can find?
no subject
Someone went to great lengths for this.

She can't though--or rather, she won't. She doesn't want to hurt anyone and she's held up to that.
She's been mostly in the market, cleaning up, wearing the protective gear provided by the Institute. When she finally sucks it up and goes to find the person that made the network post, she sure as hell hopes no one else is making an obvious visible presence.]
You the 'vanguard' person on the network?
[Her arms are crossed, holding herself defensively.]

I am.
[Ikora won't try to put usernames to faces without more information, but she has a sneaking suspicions about which username belongs to this one.]
Is there something you'd like to discuss?

Look, some of my friends got sick from this and I don't know if refugees were actually involved or not. I don't know any of the people that got called out.
[She looks away, watching the market area, remembering her own panic during the attack.]
So I'm a bit more paranoid than normal. I mean no offense. [Well. Mostly. She looks back and her posture loosens some.] It might be nothing useful, but one of the customers I was helping earlier was talking about how she saw a bunch of unsavory people on the train for Flona Cove about a year ago. [She frowns.] She wasn't really helpful for more information about it.

[Ikora sighs. There are so many conflicting messages here, along with messages that have no clear connection to the issue at hand.]
If it would ease your worry, I don't think our fellow refugees were responsible. Complicit, perhaps, but it is difficult for a group of people to organize something like this after only meeting within the last two or three months. We've merely become involved in an internal conflict that existed before we arrived, for better or worse.

The elezen steps through the thinning crowd with head held high and gait long and steady; she knows where she is going, and seems unaffected by the nerves running through the natives. There are a number of shops closed outside of their usual hours in the wake of the market explosion, but the description matches only one store that edges the market, and pale eyes flick about, making note of those watching, and to see if any lurkers in particular stand out. ]

Apologies for the RTX-Induced Delay!
[ Is she pronouncing that name right? The I is spoken singularly before the rest of the name, even as the Elezen -- elf-like, tall and graceful very very pale -- closes in on the single figure lurking in the place matching location description. She appear to be Hyur at least - or is it human? Ysayle can never be entirely sure. ]
