October Catch-all
Who: Pike Trickfoot (
trickfoot) & you!
What: Catch all during the event. A few closed starters, otherwise open to all.
When: The month of October
Where: the Vox Machina house, and in the city proper.
Warning(s): she's going to put all of you in bubbles, so help Sarenrae.
Once Pike had found out about the illness, she kicked it into gear. She used what healing spells she had access to that first day to help out with minor injuries, giving balm and kind words to those who needed it.
Though it was back at home that she seemed to be needed the most.
She's willing to come out to anyone who needs her and heal most injuries, but none of her restorative spells are able to help ward off the effects of the disease, much to her disappointment. She's not used to her spells not working like this.
[Feel free to find Pike around the city, if you need help. She kind of stands out, with her gnomish stature and bright gold plate armor.]
[Vox Machina House]
With the new information that Percy was sick, Pike had pretty much decided that the house was under quarantine. She wasn't sure how the disease spread yet, so it was a blanket order for the entire house to be careful around each other and to try and not get any one else sick.
So much for that, right?

Did you get hurt back there? Were you alone?

Would you believe I tripped over the paving stones?
[ It's a dishonest question, asked honestly: he wonders if she will. Nash doesn't really want to talk about it, not without knowing more about Pike, and how she reacts to things. ]
I think I twisted my ankle.
[ The unvarnished truth. ]

How rude of a paving stone to jump up and trip you. Let's see if we can fix it, hm?
[Pike's hands are small as she looks at his ankle, making sure it's not broken.] I have magic. Is it alright to use on you?
no subject
[ He nods agreeably at her question. ] Sure. [ He'd do it himself, but his magic is too flashy for the marketplace. ] I'd be interested to see it, actually.
[ He's heard that healing magic isn't common here, among the natives. ]

The symbol glows a golden light, and when she places both hands around his ankle, they do the same. It doesn't flare up like a lot of her higher healing abilities, instead, goes inward, wrapping around bones and tendons and healing any damage done to it.
With the energy spent, she releases the breath she had been holding.]
Try it now.

Good as new— or as good as it was, at any rate. [ A pause, as he figures out what to say next. ] I've never seen magic like that. And I learned it in a temple. [ He's vague— they don't want the refugees to out themselves. ]
no subject
It's where I learned mine as well... most of it, at least. My grandfather taught me the basics before we started. [Her tone is warm as she mentions her grandfather - great-great grandfather, to be precise, gnomes live for centuries. If he hadn't pulled her away from her family, she doesn't know where she would be right now.]
What kind of magic do you have?

But, here— [ He lifts his left hand, and closes his eyes, and after a few seconds, light blue sparks start to swirl around his glove. He stops before he finishes the spell, it would be like conjuring an target on top of his head, but the general idea is there. ]
The knights cast their spells like this [ he pantomimes holding a sword in front of his chest, and bowing his head, solemn ] but I never got the hang of it.

A knight that casts magic? That's wonderful. [It sounded much like a paladin to her.] And don't worry if you don't get the hang of it. Magic takes years to perfect, and even then we still have problems.
no subject
Almost everyone can cast, where I'm from. [ Which, judging from the network, and its seemingly endless posts about magical secrecy, was unusual. ]
no subject
I'll keep an eye out for you for one. [There has to be a weaponsmith somewhere in the city.]
Everyone can cast? Wow... where I'm from, magic's quite normal, but not everyone has the ability to do so.

It's… [ Nash has to think about this, glancing upwards as he pieces everything together. He doesn't want to straightaway admit to being from another world, for one, and it's difficult to explain something he'd taken for granted as long as he could remember. ] Magic isn't something you're born with, it's inherent in the world. It's just a matter of keeping a clear mind and getting the right equipment.
no subject
I understand. Magic's in everything. Some people learn to use it, some people are born with it or make pacts with higher beings to get it. Some worship gods and they give them the power.
I definitely understand what you mean.

[She laughs a little at that, but settles just as quick.] Honest, though. I only woke up last month.

I'm from a place called Harmonia. The Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. [ It's mostly Harmonians that call it holy, though. ]

I'm from a city called Westruun. It's in the kingdom of Tal'Dorei in Exandria. [A pause.]
It sits on the prime material plane if that helps any.
