[ Welcome to House Number 34, which is approximately the same as Houses 1-33 and 35-60, at least for now. ]
for anybody/everybody.
Do we have to go to the station for food?
[ Important things first. He had yet to claim a bed or give anyone else more than his name before he began poking around the kitchen, and he has his head in the fridge when he asks, examining the emptiness with only a little more curiosity than appliances usually warrant. He knows what a fridge is. He's just never owned one.
Remus steps away, shuts the door, and turns back toward whoever else is milling around, smiling faintly. ]
I suppose there's always hunting or thievery.
[ Neither of which are among the hobbies written on his chest. For the record. Those are adventure novels, mischief (minor), and puzzles. The list is mostly harmless, and also mostly hidden by the open robes he tossed over his clothes as soon as he gave up on removing the sticker altogether. Old survival instincts die hard.
Anyway, he's joking about the thievery. That would be mischief (major). ]

cadderly, on the other hand, does not know what a fridge is, or any of the other appliances in the kitchen that he's staring at in complete baffled wonderment. he finally blinks back to himself when the other man speaks=-
Huh? Oh.. I know not, though I doubt we would be sent here and be expected to resort to villainy for survival.
-=his hobbies of learning, reading, and writing hardly seem to suggest he would be any good at either of those things=-
Though I do imagine we are expected to become part of the society here.

[ Buffy's squinting at the accommodations. It's not much better or worse than her place in LA was. Just different. And just something she didn't choose. She's wearing her name badge still — Hello, my name is Buffy! My hobbies are slaying, shopping, and eating! What are yours?, but she does put some effort into fraying the edges now that she's home.
She'd kind of been hoping the guard was wrong. ]
I saw some ads on the bulletin boards.

Next stop, then.
[ Eventually. Sleeping is one of his hobbies. He's surprised it didn't make the list. ]

I do hope there can be some use for a scribe in a world such as this.
-=though with all of this 'technology' he's doubting a scribe works with their hands anymore=-
I came from somewhere quite different. I know not what I can offer.

the look of his tunic and breeches place him out of time a couple centuries, which may account for his abject confusion, though he at least doesn't seem to think anything here is out to kill him=-
Oh my dear Deneir...
no subject
Your dear what?
[ He has no room to judge, of course. He grew up half around muggles, enough to know that Merlin's beard and a few hundred other phrases aren't the sort of thing one says in mixed company if one doesn't enjoy funny looks. But he is curious. ]

D-Deneir.
-=he says, finally pulling his eyes away from the strange but seemingly life altering device, giving the other man an awkward smile=-
The name of my god.

Oh. [ It's a never heard of him sort of oh. A not sure if it's polite to pry sort of oh. It's followed by a pause, during which he decides it probably isn't polite, and he nods his head toward the toilet instead. ] None of those where you're from?
no subject
No! -=he says with a laugh=- Nothing like it I am afraid. It is ingenious I must say.
ota;
In general she avoids being home if she can help it, though not entirely intentionally. She's picked up many small odd jobs and her desire to have a place of her own-- not this-- drives her.
But sometimes she is there when others are (and awake, to boot) and today is one of those times. At least she's sitting at the kitchen table, frowning at the device before her. ] Does no one here know how to filter what they say?
[It's. a rhetorical question, sort of. Someone is just flabberghasted at what goees to being acceptable to say on a public forum. One does not understand the internet at all.]
