Let me live without this Empty bliss, selfishness.
Who: Phoenix Wright (
objectionattorney), Miles Edgeworth (
milesedgelord) & Open!
What: Phoenix is in stage 3 of Violet2710 and needs a constant eye on him
When: 10/9 - 10/31
Where: Olympia, Wyver, the entire journey in between, and Thessa Station
Warning(s): Blood, Sickness, and just a bunch of general gross things that come along with it
[Sometimes it felt like he was on the brink of death, sometimes he felt absolutely fine, but when push came to shove all that could be said was that he was sick. Horribly sick. With a disease that was as foreign to the rest of the world as it was for him.]
-10/24 “I am fine!”-
[Or at least that’s what his old junior attorney used to say to make himself feel better... After all, this sickness may have unknown consequences, and he surely had moments when he woke up feeling like he’d keel over, but sometimes pushing through it was the best cure for something right?
Besides! He actually didn’t feel that bad today! The nausea was down and he wasn’t feeling feint, and sure he wasn’t eating still which made the attorneys once bulky frame seem sickly thin, but he really thought he could go out and try to help a little. Besides! There were so many others out there that were sicker than him! How can he not help?
So don’t mind Phoenix as he wanders the area where all of Olympia’s refugees are being kept. Wobbling about, looking for anyone who may have needed his assistance.]
H... hey. Any way I can help?
[Yeah, he really wasn’t looking good.]
-10/27 Finally Getting To See Her Again-
[It had taken some time before Miles and Athena were able to break the news to Phoenix. The fact that they had actually managed to find her among the worlds upon worlds worth of sleeping bodies on Thessa Station was an outright miracle. And sure he felt like he may have been dying himself. But what mattered was that she was alive. Asleep but alive.
Trucy Wright. The bright looking teenage girl, and his daughter, lay there sleeping peacefully in front of him. It almost seemed as if that were all she were doing, as if she would wake up any second.
Which, of course, made the situation all the sadder. What if she never did wake up? Stuck in this state of stillness while he grew and turned old without her?]
Trucy...
[For the first time in a while it hit him. How truly scary it was to be stuck in a world where barely anything was familiar to him. Tears slowly wetting his eyes and falling along his cheeks.
A shame those tears had taken a strange red tint to them.
Almost as if he was crying tears of blood.]

For Miles - 10/9
[And yet, despite his protests, Phoenix Wright looked anything but fine. Over the course of the week his complexion had gotten considerably paler, and his frame ridiculously thin. He had always been prone to catching colds but this illness, whatever it was, seemed to far surpass anything he had ever had previously.
None the less, he was insistent to walk about himself as the city was lead to an emergency evacuation. He was slow and sluggish with his movements but still trudged forwards, there was a meet up point for those who were sick and Miles was nice enough to volunteer to keep an eye on Phoenix as he made his way over.]
I mean, I’m standing. And sure I’m a little dizzy but I promise you that I can make it all the way to—Woah.
[Okay. Either he was hallucinating again or he just passed the gates to see a mythical beast standing right before them.]
Is that a gryphon?
no subject
[Miles was sure to keep a close eye on his sick friend indeed. He made certain to walk close behind him in case Phoenix staggered or anything. It was certainly an adventure trying to corral the stubborn man into anything that resembled care. The man was a hurricane when he wanted to be.]
That [Unbelievable mythical creature.] is apparently your ride into Wyver. Allow me to assist you in getting on.
no subject
[Being as sick as he was made it all even more difficult for him to process this than it normally would have. Like, gryphons were real things in this world? Huh. How amazing.]
What if it tries to like... eat us or something. Do gryphons eat humans? I think it looks kind of hungry.
[Oh snap that griffon is definitely eyeing him down.]
no subject
[Miles gestures towards one of the trainers who were there to assist in getting the passengers strapped properly. The man headed over and placed a hand on the Gryphon's neck, calming it down somewhat.]
I'm certain the Olympians wouldn't use it as a mode of transport if they ate people Phoenix.
no subject
[Yeah, that big bird-lion thing was definitely staring at him. He was sure of it. Or at least, he thought it was?]
And they’re like part large wild cat right? Which means they’re predators and— Oh god Miles look out!
[The gryphon had shifted its weight slightly, taking a single step towards Miles. But with the state Phoenix was in his mind automatically jumped to the extreme. Causing him to retaliate of course and jump between the gryphon and his childhood friend. Glaring the large beast down.]
If you want to make a meal of Miles you’re gonna have to make a meal of me fir-ah! Ah! Ah-CHOO!
no subject
[The thought was sweet. That he was so focused on trying to protect him in this state but Phoenix never made anything easy, did he? The Griffin regarded the man, looking nonplussed. Miles pressed his handkerchief against his friends face. His trainer continued to soothe the creature and gestured for the men to come forward. The saddle on the creature's back was ready for the sick passenger.
Here in lay the challenging part.
How was he to get Phoenix Wright who was deathly afraid of both heights and this beast on top of it? ]
Goodness Phoenix. Here, come with me. Let's ride the nice big cat. See? there's nothing to worry about. He likes you.
no subject
No! It’s gonna— It’s gonna eat us, like a big cat-snack. Like we’re tuna flavored.
[Although Phoenix was almost certain that he personally tasted more like chicken himself.
The rider of the griffon giving the most concerned of looks as Miles attempted to casually herd his old friend to the beast.]
I can’t... I can’t even ride a horse Miles. I’m bad at it. Could you possibly imagine me on a giant cat?
[Oh dear, he was almost in tears.]
I’m bad at riding things. I’m uncarriable.
I can’t be carried and it’s gonna eat us all.
[Truth be told the griffon looked just as confused as everyone else at this point.]
For Venom 10/13
Instead he was immediately rushed to the medical facilities upon his arrival in order to be given the intensive care he needed.
Stuck in bed-rest, Phoenix spent his first day in an out of consciousness. His fever coming and going much like an oceans tide. In fact, it was far into the night when he finally came to once more, his eyes opening as he heard the door to his room open. An unfamiliar face greeting him as he glanced towards the bedroom entrance.]
Ah. What a pretty angel.
[Sorry to say Venom that this time around Phoenix doesn’t seem to recognize you, despite the weeks of care you previously have been giving him. Instead he stares on with a look of dazed astonishment.]
... Does this mean I’m dead?
no subject
At first it was a couple of quick visits, leaving books and juice with his roommates. Then when they came here, he continued to keep Phoenix company when his friends couldn't. It pained him to see Nick get worse, though when he enters today, he's greeted with... that...
An angel? Hardly. Nick is clearly delirious, but it does bring a bit of warmth to Venom's cheeks.]
It's me, Nick. Venom. You're not dead. It seems the illness is affecting your memory.
[He takes a seat next to the bed, noting his condition.]
How are you holding up?
no subject
[And with that he gave a small smile. It paled in comparison to his previous wide grins but it was a smile none the less.]
You said your name was Venom? Or were you saying that you’re venomous? That’s a weird thing for someone to say.
Are you part snake or something?
[He may have have been slightly delirious though. Obviously despite how chipper he was acting he was definitely not at his best.]
no subject
Yes, my name is Venom. I'm definitely not part snake.
[His patience has remained intact, but mostly with Nick and no one else. All he desires is to see him get better. To see that bigger grin again.]
no subject
[If by fighting he meant making a few air-punches in the mythical beasts general direction before losing balance and falling flat on his back.]
It's a pleasure to meet you Mr.Venom. Who is definitely not a snake... or an angel.
[He's just going to continue to stare vaguely at you, looking you over with a half tired gaze as he says that.]
Are you able to see with all that hair in your face?
no subject
Yes, I am able to see fine. My vision is rather sharp.
[He tucks some of it away so Phoenix knows he's dealing with a regular human and not a snake... and not an angel.]
no subject
[And, as if he was proving some sort of point, does Phoenix reach up and casually flick at the one piece of hair dangling in front of his face.]
Maybe it’s a sign that I’m getting old.
Do you think when I’m an old man all my bangs won’t stay up any more? Maybe I’ll lose my spikiness...
Feels like some sort of... what was the word again? Meta... right. A metaphor—aaacHHOOO!!!
[And with that he sneezed out, accidentally causing his nose to bleed in the process. Really he was not a pretty sight to look at at all in this state.]
no subject
[He doesn't even know how old Phoenix is, but he knows Nick isn't that old. Venom reaches over to tuck that stray lock away. He's about to tell his friend that he's not losing his spikiness when he sneezes, his nose gushing some blood.
It's enough for Venom to recoil his hand immediately. He tries to stay calm as he averts his eyes from the disgusting visual.]
A-are you all right? Do you want me to get you a doctor?
[He tentatively hands Nick a box of tissues to clean himself up. He'd help but... blood...]
no subject
[Taking the tissue does Phoenix immediately blow his nose, doing his best to wipe away the mess he made. Which, unfortunately due to his condition, was not the most through.]
Darn cold has been pretty bad this year. Flu season tends to hit me so I'm kind of used to this.
[He literally does not seem to be aware that his nose is bleeding.]
Also I've had plenty of people looking after me. It would be silly to rush a bunch of doctors over here for something so minor.
As you said right? Not old yet, so my immune system should handle it. Always been kinda lucky like that at least...
[Despite his condition he someone how manages to offer a large wide grin at Venom, as if this were just a normal day.]
no subject
Allow me, please. Just to make sure it really is just the flu.
[He knows it's worse, and he wants his friend to survive this horrific sickness.]
It won't take long, I'm sure.
no subject
[Phoenix can't help but give a somewhat dejected look as Venom stands up. His expression weak but pleading, like the look a small child would give for being denied a toy they wanted.]
But you'll come back right? You're not going to leave for good?
[As sick as he was the one thing he hated the most in all this was how lonely being in a contained room for so long had felt. It reminded him of the other times it had happened. And how prone he had been to this sort of thing.]
no subject
I'll return. I promise.
[It would take a lot of strength for Venom to return after that display of blood, but Nick is his friend. He has to come back.]
no subject
[He’s had too many people leave him for long periods of time during his life Venom so you better stick to it. He’s in that much of an emotional state after all.
Fever tends to do that sometimes apparently.]
We haven’t even gotten to learn much about each other yet. You have to come back.
no subject
He tries putting on a brave face for his friend.]
Yes, I mean it. I will come back.
no subject
Thank you.
Thank you so much Mr.Venom.
[Are you sure you’re not an angel? You’re certainly as kind as one would be.]
10/24
What in Elune's name did this half-dead mortal fool think he could possibly need from hi-oh, right. The blindfold. Likely assumed him completely blind. Still, witht he way some of these people approached him, he wondered what happened to a good healthy dose of demonic stranger danger.]
Not dying in my presence would be appreciated. The last thing I need is the squeamish mortals running here assuming I had something to do with it.
no subject
I’m not squeamish. And I’m not dying! I’m just a little si—
[And with that he started coughing excessively, blood filling his hands as he tried to be polite and keep for spewing the stuff over the man he was trying to help.]
I... oh god I’m dying aren’t I?
[Cough.]
no subject
It certainly sounds that way from here.
[He probably should be a bit more sympathetic. He doesn't really want to be, or care to be, but it might help pass the time. He is rather bored.]
But I have seen worse if that is any consolation.
no subject
[Yes, that knowledge certainly made him feel a lot better. He may have been dying but at least it wasn’t that bad.]
I mean, I have the cough sure, but I’m standing and I feel pretty all right. I know that despite my condition there are plenty of people who are worse off still. And I’d rather help out than just sit about uselessly.
[Goodness if anyone else actually died from this thing and he didn’t do anything about it he would feel absolutely guilty!]
no subject
[Just saying. If you're trying to justify it then you already know you did something wrong. Which was why he made it a point to never acknowledge he had bad ideas. Clearly this human needs some of that flawless wisdom imparted upon him before he died.]
Our of curiousity what exactly do you plan on doing to help? I assume such tasks are better left to those not spontaneously bleeding like a stuck pig.
no subject
[Says the lawyer with blood trickling down his lips. This is normal. He is fine. Everything is fine. Really.]
I can look after others who are a bit more sick than I am. Like getting them medicine and food and things. Also just keeping an eye on people. Or even finding a way to help gather supplies for everyone else since we’re all trying to survive while in this city. I’m weak at the moment but I’m sure helping find edible vegetation and supplies for all of us during our stay shouldn’t be too hard as long as nothing I lift is too heavy. I can even do some shopping at the local stores.
[He’s really stubborn about this okay? He’ll help even if it kills him!
Perhaps literally.]
no subject
[Him saying anything is repulsive generally means a lot coming from him, as it's usually a case of the pot calling the kettle black, but in this scenario he at least has the moral high ground that he's not contaminating anything.]
If you are so determined to die, then why not offer yourself as a test subject for possible cures? At least then if you die it might be for the greater good rather than delusions of competency.
no subject
[Phoenix hesitates with that. His expression perking up, if even tiredly, at the mention of him perhaps using his own sickness as a means to help people.]
That-- That's a great idea actually!
[Ah. Look at how happy you made him Illidan! Even if it sounded mildly suicidal the thought that perhaps the sickness contained within his own body can be researched to create some sort of anti-body for others stuck in his situation seemed to have brightened his day!
That was the perfect idea! Now! If only he can find out where all those scientists are--]
Hmm, you would think everyone is working on a cure all in the same place right? Do I just tell them I'm sick and walk in? Or will they just force me back to bed you think? Ah, but I have to at least plead my case.
You! Do you happen to know where they're doing all the research for this? I don't remember seeing that many doctors at the infirmary. But they have to be keeping an eye on us in some way right? Since those of us who caught it are a big deal and all.
[Wow. This sickness was really getting to his head.]
