There's still a lot he doesn't know about the ancient fued between the cities, but as a natural-born hellraiser, he doesn't feel any uneasiness about the prospect of an upcomming war. He doesn't appear to have any supplies on him, nor are there any signs of his mount being around. [As a professor of Magic at the insitute, it's not uncommon to find Mephisto giving lectures or offering advice to students -- all under the name Johann Faust, of course. Even those not enrolled who might be interested in some good conversation can easily find him in his office, organizing research notes or conducting little experiments. As fun as Wyver's little moon festival had been, he can't deny the allure of a red light district, bringing in beautiful people, good drinks, and quiet dealings of the less scrupulous sort. The people were more honest with their malice towards Wyver once the drinks started to flow, but all it took were a few carefully placed words to placate them into changing the subject into something lighter and more fun.]
[Still, despite being a somewhat regular here, he's not the sort to go around buying services either. He prefers a chase after, all. Which is what has him sliding into a seat next to someone who appears alone -- whether they're a fellow patron or an employee.] Care for a drink? It's rather lonely to be here, drinking by one's self.

I've already tested it on subjects experiencing chronic pain and found some success, but I need a good control subject as well! And seeing as you're a fit and strapping young man, I thought perhaps you wouldn't mind giving it a taste test?
[--is the explanation he gives, with a completely straight face, and not a single trace of potential dishonesty. Mostly because yes, that's more or less what he's trying to do here!]
[But what he's leaving out is that this batch was the first one to attempt to remove a particular unwanted side-effect from the drug... one that he hasn't been very successful in weeding out yet.]
no subject
His lips quirked in a tiny grin. ] I suppose it wouldn't hurt it give it a taste. No point having a successful product if it doesn't taste pleasant. But I'm not experiencing any kind of physical pain at the moment, so is it still effective? [ He asked as he picked his cup up, giving Mephisto a kind of toast before taking a tentative sip, humming at the flavour. ]
Mn, not bad. What kind of herbs is it made of?
[ The question now would be what kind of side effects that Reign would be experiencing soon, if there were any left. ]
no subject
[But there is a side effect. Which might just be subtle at first... because it's slowly going to make him thirsty.
Thirsty for what is up to you!][He sighs, but actually looks a bit relieved... and then casually leans back against his desk and grabs a beaker to drink from. When the science is tea, this is fine.]
My first batch was unpleasantly bitter and not too effective, so I tried adding the petals of the duskbloom as well. They're a bit harder to find than the leaves, so manufacturing large quantities may prove difficult...
no subject
Duskblooms, eh? It certainly would sweeten the taste. But wouldn't the addition of fennelfrost make the drinker drowsy?
[ It didn't take long before Reign finished his tea, and was already holding his empty cup out to Mephisto for a refill. ]
Were there any side effects from the first batch, bitter taste aside?
no subject
[Which he'll just go ahead and show off, snapping his fingers to make Reign's cup disappear, and then reappear at the end of one of the chemistry setups. A kettle of water pours itself over a small burner, ingredients move around, and a little time turns on to countdown until it's done steeping.]
[And all the while, Mephisto just casually stands there, sipping his own cup -- which is from the failed batch.]
Ah, the first batch... it did nothing for the pain, but had the unfortunate effect of inducing sudden bouts of narcolepsy! Of course, in my case, I only felt a bit tired. I suppose years of insomnia can stand up to anything.
no subject
[ Reign didn't put it past Mephisto not to use a bit of whatever powers he may have, and of course, the vampire was treated nicely to the demon's display of his abilities, his eyes widening slightly as he watched how those items moved seamlessly to prepare his next cup of tea.
He snapped his slightly opened mouth close, before grinning impishly at Mephisto. ]
Then I guess I don't need to worry about you suddenly falling asleep on me. It wouldn't do if some unknown side effects happened to me and you're unfortunately incapacitated. Say... [ Reign moved towards where the beakers were, leaning in for a closer inspection of those test tubes. ] What is it that you do here at the institute, if research isn't your only work.
no subject
Officially, I'm employed as a teacher of magic! I offer lectures on the process of magic acquisition, as well as private tutoring for those who desire a bit more direction in their studies.
[The timer gives a soft chime, and then the cup of freshly brewed tea is floating back over the Reign again.]
However, this little experiment is actually more of a personal project of mine. But the institute doesn't seem to mind, so long as my research produces results.
no subject
Even for those who have no talent in magic? Now I'm curious to see how your lectures go.
[ Murmuring a soft thank you, Reign accepted the cup, this time taking bigger sips. ] It already sounds like a fun project. One that is certainly beneficial to those who need it. If you need any help, just let me know, since I work here too.
no subject
[He's watching Reign's reactions pretty carefully, looking for signs of that particular side effect. If he asks for a third cup, he might get suspicious...]
Ah, but where do your specialties lie, Mr. Fear?
no subject
[ Reign was already finishing his second cup, having yet to realise that the side effect had begun to work in him. He just figured that the tea tasted exceedingly tasty, a flavour he hadn't try before. ]
Me? I specialise in pheromones, though I use that to create perfumes. Compared to the five senses, smell is the most prominent. It can invoke memories, stimulate the nerves, as well as many other usefulness. Oh, urm... [ And now he looked a bit sheepish. ] This may seem impolite, but may I have another cup? It just taste so good!
no subject
[He trails off as he sees that he's finished his second cup, sighing.]
Ah, it's rather dry, isn't it? I'm afraid I don't have the ingredients to spare to simply satisfy your thirst... but you're more than welcome to a glass of water if you'd like... or whatever else you're in the mood for.
[Punctuated by not-so-subtly turning his head and looking up at nothing in particular, giving him a nice view of his neck... you know,, since it might be rude to outright offer blood to vampire! Different cultures man!]
no subject
[ Speaking of dry, Reign was feeling quite parched. Like his throat was suddenly much too dehydrated and in need of fluid, albeit one that was altogether unlike anything he'd ever experience before. ]
That's a pity. I really wouldn't have minded more of those tea. Water sounds... [ His voice trailed off as his gaze travelled towards the hint of exposed skin on Mephisto's neck. Reign swallowed heavily, uncertain if the demon had been doing that on purpose or unconsciously. He tried to shake the thought of feasting on Mephisto's blood from his head, yet found himself not quite successful. ] ...I'll settle for water, if you have some.
[ Maybe that would quench his thirst a bit. ]
no subject
Here you are. There's plenty more where that came from, so please, don't hold back.
no subject
Aaaah... That was good. Goodness gracious, how impolite of me to have shown you such a sight. [ He wiped his mouth with the back of his gloved hand, looking sheepish as he handed the bottle back to Mephisto. Even then, Reign couldn't stop staring at the demon's neck, memories of the first taste still fresh on his mind. ]
I think there might be a slight problem with this batch of tea. It just makes me thirstier. [ Thirsty for something else as well, not just the tantalising red fluid. ]
no subject
Oh my-- does it? That's most unfortunate. And here I thought I had finally gotten rid of that particular side effect with the third batch.
[He leans against his desk again, both hands gripping the edge and craning his neck up to look back at Reign.]
Shall I get you another bottle then? Or perhaps... can I interest you in something else?
no subject
Reign's breath stuttered at the lingering touches of Mephisto's fingertips, very nearly dropping the bottle then and there. ]
So this is actually the fourth batch?
[ Seeing that expanse of skin sent another jolt of want through Reign, and he instantly squeezed his eyes shut, shaking his head. ]
N-no... I think I've enough water for now. Actually, I doubt it's enough to quench this thirst. [ He reluctantly opened one eye, hesitating. ] ...I'm afraid I might really drain you dry.
no subject
[A dangerous game -- but the funnest ones often were. Or maybe Mephisto is just feeling a bit more reckless these days... in any case, he has no intention of backing down. He still remembers how good it felt to have those sharp teeth sinking into his neck. Watching someone give into temptation and indulge in a bit of sin... can there be anything better for a demon?]
Oh? Do you really think you can? I thought I warned you last time not to underestimate me. [He bites at his lower lip, perhaps intentionally biting just a bit too hard to cause a slight trace of blood to paint his lips. He's starting to give up on subtly himself here -- no doubt Reign realizes now what he's trying to do here. Was that his goal from the start...?]
no subject
The sharp coppery scent instantly had Reign's attention, a whimper slipping out at the sight of red painting across Mephisto's lips. It was too much for Reign to hold back, and while he could have escaped Mephisto's room earlier, now seemed too late for him to do so.
Without another word, Reign launched himself at Mephisto, hands clamping down on the demon's shoulders as he pressed their lips together, tongue darting out to lick those delicious fluids. He groaned at the familiar taste, sucking on the wound to pull more of that sweet blood into his mouth. ]
no subject
[He's not going to get too much blood out of that wound, the small bite sealing up damn near right away. But with Mephisto holding him in place, he might find it a little hard to redirect towards his neck -- with Mephisto instead taking the opportunity to deepen the kiss, savoring the taste of his own blood on Reign's lips.]
[And behind him, seemingly effortlessly, the various bits of delicate lab equipment slowly begin to pack themselves back up onto a nearby shelf, clearing off his desk... ya know... for reasons.]
no subject
That was fine with him. In fact, Reign was quite all right with this turn of event. A good thing that he wasn't currently in any hurry either. His hands moved from Mephisto's shoulders to the back of his neck, pressing himself closer. But it wasn't enough.
With Mephisto's hands holding him in place, Reign couldn't pull back to aim for the demon's neck. And thus, more muffled whines from the vampire, because another type of hunger was beginning to build in him. ]
no subject
[He pulls back just enough to speak, now smoothing his free hand up to cup around reign;s face -- still holding him in place even as he grins down at those fangs of his. If there wee any doubts about whether or not Mephisto was doing this on purpose, surely the look on his face now would erase them.]
Fufu, was that not enough for you? If there's something else you want from me, you'll have to be a good boy and ask for it nicely.
no subject
But Reign stopped himself, instead nuzzling into Mephisto's palm, face flushed as he looked up at the other. Damn, there was no doubt in his mind that Mephisto had partially planned this. If not to seduce Reign, then any other poor soul who got caught in the demon's web.
He bit his lower lip at the query, his gaze dropping briefly down to Mephisto's neck, then up again into those hypnotic green eyes. ]
Are you going to ask another favour from me again?
[ One session of drink = one favour? Gosh, he was going to be deep in Mephisto's debt. ]
no subject
[His fingertips draw along Reign's cheek, pressing in just enough for him to feel the hint of those sharp nails beneath the fabric of his gloves. He stops when he reaches his lips, pressing his thumb against his bottom lip and tugging his chin upwards to keeo his gaze locked on his face.]
I told you to tell me what you want from me. How am I supposed to know if you won't tell me? Why... I might just take what I want from you instead.
[He says, as if he doesn't plan on doing just that afterwards. But he already knows how his blood affects Reign -- he doesn't think there are going to be any complaints here.]
no subject
[ Feeling the sharp nails on his cheek, even through the thick material of the glove, reminded Reign of just how dangerous Mephisto could be. A vampire was no match against a demon, especially a vampire such as Reign himself. Perhaps if it was Shell. Or maybe one of the Overlords... ]
You already know what I want.
[ Reign couldn't help the petulant pout, but also realised that Mephisto already knew, and yet wanted to hear it from him. Hah... Since Mephisto had threw the question out, he might as well take it and answer the demon. ]
I want to drink from you. To sate this thirst inside me. Fill up my hunger. [ And then in a softer voice: ] ...please?
no subject
[He knows exactly what Reign wants -- but he wants to make him beg for it. A demon's gotta have his kinks, okay... but maybe there's also just a bit more fun in drawing it out and teasing him. Seeing if he can't get him desperate -- or maybe just a bit petulant. That little bit of fight and conflict made things all the more enjoyable for him, after all.]
[Which is why he's just going to answer him with this face, fighting back the urge to snicker at his expense--]
My, don't you need to be on your knees for that?
