[For as much as it feels like things have finally settled down, perhaps it's only that he's finally settled into a routine. The tension in the city is strongly apparent, and it's clear the Olympians are likely looking for a war to wipe the mud off their face after lowering themselves so much to seek help from Wyver. There's still a lot he doesn't know about the ancient fued between the cities, but as a natural-born hellraiser, he doesn't feel any uneasiness about the prospect of an upcomming war. Much as he would prefer the tension of a cold war versus an all-out bloodbath, as long as there was something to keep him entertained, he didn't really mind what the people here chose to do.]
[But for the time being at least, he does have a few chosen haunts where he tends to make an appearance--]

[With so many people taking advantage of the mounts, it's fair to assume some will be crossing paths with one another at some point, even if they initially set out alone. But given the nature of this world, it was best to stick together, right? And who better to go on a dangerous expedition with than the all-powerful magician, Johann Faust! Which is how he'll be introducing himself to most people he meets. But just where are they going? And what will they see?? Well...]
3 | A mind is a terrible thing to waste | Outskirts of Olympia | OTA
[On the edge of a forest near the furthest outskirts of Olympia bordering Wyver, an oddly nostalgic bird call sounds through the air. And should they follow the sound, they'll eventually come across a rather odd sight: Mephisto, sitting on the ground with an odd expression on his face, looking thoroughly perplexed. He doesn't appear to have any supplies on him, nor are there any signs of his mount being around. But more than that, he looks just a bit worse for the wear: his clothes and hair not quite dirty, but definitely more out of sorts than usual. The only thing he has is his phone, closed and held tightly in one hand.]
[He won't call out nor even respond when approached -- not even to attempts at calling to him right to his face. But should someone decide to take the extra step and give him a bit of a nudge, he'll slowly look up at them blankly, his eyes lacking any sign that he recognizes them.] ...what day is it today?

A. Simwe Institute | OTA
[As a professor of Magic at the insitute, it's not uncommon to find Mephisto giving lectures or offering advice to students -- all under the name Johann Faust, of course. Even those not enrolled who might be interested in some good conversation can easily find him in his office, organizing research notes or conducting little experiments. And if you're lucky (???), you might just find yourself being pulled right into one!]
Oh, good timing! Would you might lending me a hand for a moment?
B. Red Light | OTA 18+
[What sort of demon would he be if he didn't indulge in a little sin now and again? As fun as Wyver's little moon festival had been, he can't deny the allure of a red light district, bringing in beautiful people, good drinks, and quiet dealings of the less scrupulous sort. The people were more honest with their malice towards Wyver once the drinks started to flow, but all it took were a few carefully placed words to placate them into changing the subject into something lighter and more fun.]
[Still, despite being a somewhat regular here, he's not the sort to go around buying services either. He prefers a chase after, all. Which is what has him sliding into a seat next to someone who appears alone -- whether they're a fellow patron or an employee.] Care for a drink? It's rather lonely to be here, drinking by one's self.

[Catching a bit of respite under a giant 20-foot tall mushroom? Sounds safe. It's starting to rain overhead, though judging by the wind, it shouldn't last long -- which is a good thing, seeing as they'll need to leave the Hallow before sunset if they want to ride back on their mounts! For his part, Mephisto has been wearing a face mask this whole time -- though he'll pull it down once the rain starts.] Ahh, I can't say I've ever been so relieved to see a bit of rain! My allergies are acting up quite terribly around here.
[But this isn't just any mushroom. It's a mushroom of madness, prone to giving off spores that can cause mutual hallucinations powerful enough to render one unable to tell the difference between fiction and reality! ...but surely the rain means it shouldn't be as potent, right?]

Oh my, it seems you've been caught! [And just look at how worried Mephisto looks... or rather, how worried he doesn't look, inspecting the tree that has somehow captured up some poor unsuspecting travelor -- tearing them right off their mount, whch proceeded to flee off into the distance without them. Closed to Yoruichi
[Mephisto has chosen to explore Flona Cove in his sweet little puppy form, considering it to be something of a break from the more dangerous locales offered by Olympia. The water was far too cold to indulge in right now, but the ocean breeze was pleasant enough, and the number of dangerous creatures was significantly lesser around here! At least, as far as he's noticed. It's entirely possible that may be a seasonal thing.]
[But that is almost definitely a cat. Just... it's just a cat?? And though he doesn't exactly have any sort of dog-like instincts from turning into this form, he can't deny a certain pang of nostalgia for the days when he'd roam the school grounds and chase the stray cats around-- this is a weird memory.]
[Whatever, he's gonna chase the cat!! And so out he comes from around a corner, running and barking. Despite being an all-powerful demon in disguise, he's pretty good at concealing his aura. There's really nothing making him stand out from an ordinary dog right now.]
no subject
But at the moment, the (literal) coast remains clear and Yoruichi-as-cat is content to leap gracefully from rock to rock as she scopes out the area on her Great Olympia Tour of [Year Redacted]. The water is cool, the beaches sandy, and it carries with it a certain peaceful charm rarely found in the intense jungles of Wyver. At least, it was peaceful--right up until some dog appears, yapping at the top of its lungs like some ill-trained street cur.
She skitters away, paws flurrying as she attempts to escape its reach and head for safety. And, because there might be some ingrained nugget of obedience in its small head, she shouts out irritably: ]
Stop chasing me, you mongrel!
[ Talking cats, it's NBD. ]
no subject
[But he stops the moment he hears her speak, tilting his head to the side in true puppydog fashion. A talking cat, huh.]
I'm not a mongrel. I'll have you know I happen to be a purebred!
[This is totally normal, right??]
no subject
Neither it seems, at the moment, though Yoruichi does slow down when it turns out her new "friend" is capable of more than just senseless barks and yaps. Her already-narrow eyes narrow further. ]
Then why does it look like someone's fished you out of a gutter?
[ Shouldn't she be asking why he's also talking? ]
If you have the intelligence to talk, you should also have the intelligence not to chase perfectly innocent cats around.

Closed to Jae-ha
[Eventually he'll just fashion his scarf into a little face mask and-- ah, that's a bit better.]
Ahh, do excuse me... I should have known my allergies would crop up in a place like this! It positively reeks of rot, after all.
no subject
[Wasting no time in poking his own fun at Mephisto, Jae-Ha smirks with one hand on his hip. The other gestures out to him.] You're sure you haven't caught my cold, then?
no subject
Not at all! Demons can't catch colds -- but we are weaker against whichever elements oppose our own. Time has no true weakness, but I still have an adverse reaction to anything related to the King of Rot.
[...punctuated with another sneeze. At least his eyes aren't watering -- the last thing he needs is Jae-ha teasing him about crying.]
Ah, but seeing as you were rather ill until quite recently... are you sure you've regained your strength? I'm not carrying you back to Olympia, you know.
[...except he probably would. Shut up.]

Life in Olympia was working well for the vampire, already nicely settling in at one of those accommodations provided to refugees like him. Being able to work here was almost a dream come true for Reign, and added bonus in his discoveries for more materials to make into pheromones. That dream of opening a unique perfume shop was still far away, but at least he had a head start.
Reign was on his way to the potions research lab, a stack of books in his arms when he was stopped by a familiar voice. He glanced in that direction, eyes widening in recognition. ]
Mr. Pheles! Oh, um, sure. What can I do to help?
[ As eager as Reign was to lend a hand, the memories of what they did on their first meet came rushing back to the vampire, evident by the light flush of colour on his cheeks. That had been quite an enjoyable time, to say the least. ]
no subject
[But he did actually need help with something! A very important something that he
won'tcan't test by himself.]Oh, it's very simple, really!
[And he holds out... a cup of tea? But there are definitely beakers and other chemist equipment behind him. And not a single teakettle in sight.]
I just need you to drink this!
[THIS IS VERY SUSPICIOUS]
no subject
Reign's attention returned to Mephisto, his gaze dropping to the cup of tea offered as he carefully placed his stack of books on the furthest edge of the table. What with all those chemist equipment sprawling across the table, it was a miracle Reign actually managed to find a tiny spot for his books. ]
What kind of tea is this?
[ He took the cup with some trepidation, giving Mephisto a wary look even as he gave the concoction a careful sniff.
Reign may be naive some times, but he wasn't entirely stupid. The tea smelled wonderful, though. ]
no subject
I've already tested it on subjects experiencing chronic pain and found some success, but I need a good control subject as well! And seeing as you're a fit and strapping young man, I thought perhaps you wouldn't mind giving it a taste test?
[--is the explanation he gives, with a completely straight face, and not a single trace of potential dishonesty. Mostly because yes, that's more or less what he's trying to do here!]
[But what he's leaving out is that this batch was the first one to attempt to remove a particular unwanted side-effect from the drug... one that he hasn't been very successful in weeding out yet.]

But that sight of a rather dazed looking Mephisto is enough to make her slow. There's only a little bit of concern behind it; mostly, she knows that if she doesn't stop to acknowledge him somehow or other, he'll probably find some way to force her attention, and she has more control this way.
But... that's a really suspicious question coming from him?? Shura's brow furrows, trying to figure out just what he was trying to get at.]
What do you mean? It's Saturday.

3!
It didn't seem like Mephisto even recognized him? ]
What? [ This wasn't... it wasn't one of his acts, was it? It'd be pretty elaborate and just plain weird if it was. And surely he's not that good of a faker??
The boy's on foot—no mount of any sort—and has a duffel over one shoulder, having donned a travel coat and wearing his hair tied back somewhat messily in a short ponytail. It doesn't seem much like he's on a day trip... actually he looks more like a well-dressed hobo. ]
It's the sixth.. [ He blinks again for a moment. ]
What happened, did you hit your head?
[ What is this, concern and not wariness?! .. Well, maybe both. ]
no subject
[There's still definitely something off about him, even now that he's responding -- as if his mind is far, far away, and the words coming out of his mouth are just a faint echo of his thoughts.]
But that's can't be right... I could've sworn it was...
[He trails off for a second, staring down at the ground.]
...I can't seem to recall what I've been doing for the past few days. Or perhaps longer.
no subject
Aren't you supposed to be immune to things like this…? [ It's lightly muttered though, looking more closely. Maybe that's his bias with Noah though, which are honestly the next closest thing he's familiar with. And they’re pretty impervious to.. everything. Was he injured then? He did look a little disheveled…
He cocks his head to the side, looking a little uncertain. If this is some elaborate hoax… ]
What's the last thing you do remember?
no subject
I remember seeing a strange flock of birds. [...] Or at least, I think they might have been birds. They were rather curious looking things... I can't say I've ever seen anything like them in Assiah before.

Closed to Rin
[He intended to tell Shura and Rin right away. Or within the day, at least -- he needed to make sure he was really in stasis first, after all. But first, after just a bit of internal debate, he decided there was someone else he should talk to -- someone who promised to be there to give him a little nudge to ask for help when he needed it.]
[But then that person was also returned to stasis. And Mephisto decided he didn't want to talk to anyone that day.]
[By the time he realizes he still had a message to convey, it occurs to him that the other two in Wyver might already know. Surely Rin and Shima kept in contact with one another... if Shima had been gone longer than just a day or two, any messages sent to him would have bounced back. It would be rather tacky, then, to send a message informing them so late.]
[But if he went in person-- he would be able to tell right away whether or not Rin was already aware of Shima's disappearance. It might even leave a bigger impact, knowing that Mephisto went out of his way to convey the message in person--]
[At least, this is what he's telling himself.]
[And so, at some point while walking around Wyver, Rin will find himself in the company of a familiar crow... that's just gonna go ahead and perch itself on his head. Gotta bother him first, that's his MO--]
[But okay, more importantly--]
Goodness, what on earth is that creature you're holding?
no subject
Its - my dog - [ He answers, begrudgingly, before making little cooing and hushing noises at the small dog, holding it a little lower so it doesn't snap at Mephisto himself. Not that Rin is worried that the little guy could hurt anyone too badly. ] It doesn't like surprises.
[ The dog's barks calm down into little growls, still glaring at the bird perched on Rin's head. ]
What? Ya want something? I'm kinda busy.
[ busy not having a job lol!!!! ]
no subject
[Birds have talons u know... even if his messy hair makes a pretty good look nest here. But what's worse, being prodded in the head by a bird or having a three-headed abomination barking at literally everything?]
