OPEN & CATCH ALL
Who: Elliot Nightray (
yelliot) & YOU
What: Elliot being dumb around Olympia...
When: Throughout January
Where: Various locations throughout Olympia
Warning(s): N/A Will update if necessary?
UNSTOCKED MARKET
[All Elliot wanted was a carton of eggs. Not even a dozen, just half would've done. But there aren't any that he can find. For some reason they're entirely sold out, regardless of which stall he goes to, which only leaves him feeling frustrated, if not a little dejected. The thing about Olympia is that it's a lot more organized than Wyver (at least in his opinion) and there are a lot of things in the market Elliot's never really seen before. Especially in the fruit section.
The thing about being rich is that you really don't know where your food comes from most of the time, and there's one fruit in particular that has Elliot completely perplexed. He stands there, holding a pineapple, looking more than a little confused. It was so...weird?]
...Do people really eat these?
STRAYS
[He's really weak. Really, really weak.
To cats, that is.
This current, new furry friend is a stray gray cat with white paws that Elliot is currently infatuated with. So much so he's taken it upon himself to make sure no one is around him as he stands off to the side in an alleyway, crouched down to pet the friendly creature on the head. It's clear that for now nothing else matters other than the attention he's getting from this cat. He's totally blissed out even. Maybe you should let him be...
or tease him for it.]
You're so cute...do you have any friends?
TAVERN
[Somehow, Elliot had managed to strike a deal with the owner of a tavern not long ago. In exchange for performances on the establishment's piano he'd be allowed to stay there in one of the upstairs rooms. The same applied to Leo. He's just finished playing for the night and is more than a little tired, but he seems content enough to linger by the piano a little longer while patrons filter out of the tavern and toward the exit.
Maybe, just maybe, if you're polite enough and stick around he'll play you an encore.]
...Did you need something?

market;
And do you know what the wealthy used to do with pineapples in the Edwardian era? They showed them off, because they were a symbol of wealth, because they were so damn hard to get a hold of back in the day.
And so we come to the here and now, a universe away and a few years later, where Rosalind glances up at the question.]
It's a pineapple. And yes, sometimes. Oftentimes they'll be centerpieces, though.
no subject
That's a bit gaudy, don't you think? Why would anyone want this as a centerpiece?
no subject
It's a status symbol. It's difficult to come by, so if you have it, people will know you've not only got a lot of money, but that you've enough to spend it on frivolous things. An ego booster, if you will.
no subject
[But then again maybe pineapples are native to this planet. Who knows? That's right...he's supposed to be blending in.]
Do they taste good at least?
no subject
[. . .]
It eats you a bit in return.

FRUITS
Well...first you have to peel them. Pineapples aren't something you can simply bite into.
no subject
Oh. Do you like them?
no subject
They're delicious! I had them all the time with Papaya and Passion Fruit in fruit parfaits. The hardest part is cutting them up correctly. I could teach, you if you want.
[Teaching people to cook is Yu's #1 priority in life, apparently.]
no subject
I haven't heard of those fruits either...but sure, I wouldn't mind.
[If it was really good he'd take some home to share with Leo. No harm no foul, right?]
no subject
[He meant to make some food for the others. Picking up the Pineapple, he picks a few more fruits - a weird reddish one, a brown, fuzzy one and a blueberries.]
Now all we'll need is a cup of creme or yogurt...I'm sure I've seen some around...

here kitty kitty kitty
Except this one.
He didn't recognise that shock of dirty blond hair until he heard the voice. Curious, he sneaked closer and tried to peer over Elliot's head. ]
Who are you talking to— [ Oh! ] Awww, it's a kitty cat! How cute! [ And soon enough, Reign was crouching down right beside Elliot and cooing over the feline. ]
get your own cat
Don't you see I'm busy?
nyaaaaaaaaaaaaan~ /paws at
Instead, rather than be annoyed by Elliot, Reign merely direct his smiley face at him, all bright eyed. ]
Is the kitty yours? Or is it a stray and you're planning to keep it? Have you thought up a name for it?
[ Deliberately avoiding Elliot's question. Yup. ]
no subject
It isn't mine. If it was it'd be wearing a collar.
[Or a cute little bow. Either way, if he had a cat it wouldn't be out on the street! ]
As much as I'd like to keep it...I don't think I can right now.
no subject
[ Reign, that was quite some imagination you have there.
He tilted his head, utterly full of curiosity. ]
Why? I don't think we're restricted from keeping pets.
[ His friend, Atsushi, had a tiger cub. So he knew there were no rules against animals living together. ]

Anyway, he somehow manages to cross Elliot during this embarrassing time.
For Elliot I mean, not Lukas. ]
Oh? There seems to be a number of lost critters today.
no subject
It's...so cute.]
You found one too?
no subject
Obviously, I have yet to come across its owner.
[ He pauses briefly, noticing that the cat Elliot had been paying attention to so sincerely before nuzzling against the other. ]
Perhaps we should team up.
no subject
[No really, it is a good idea.]
If it belongs to someone it's incredibly important that we find its owner. This one though...I think it doesn't belong to anyone.
no subject
That is quite unfortunate... if you are worried, however, why do you not adopt it?
(no subject)
LEO
Not...that weird, at least not on the surface, but Elliot knows that what transpired between them has made things...different. He's not surprised. After all, he had kissed the face off Leo and vice versa but since that had happened there's been an uncomfortable tension between them.
At least in Elliot's opinion there has been.
Only able to take so much of said tension, it's late in the evening that he finally snaps, the two of them in their shared room. Leo's reading something. It's not important what he's doing. What is important is that he's ignoring him...and it's clearly all Elliot's fault. (Or he thinks he's ignoring him, anyway.)]
So is this how it's going to be? You're going to just ignore me now?
no subject
I'm not ignoring you.
[ there's a difference? he's ignoring what they did. that doesn't mean ignoring elliot... alright, maybe he hasn't been meeting elliot's eyes lately, because it keeps reminding him of what happened at the gala and it makes him warm and uncomfortable inside his clothes.
he's not meeting elliot's eyes right now either, determinedly squaring his gaze at the book in front of him. ]
no subject
[Arms are crossed defensively against his chest as he stares Leo down, who seems far more interested in the book he has in hand than what Elliot has to say. Which...is normal, honestly, but still.]
It's because it's my fault, right?
no subject
[ yes he does, but. IGNORING. ]
no subject
[STOP...IGNORING...HIM...]
If you hated it just come out and say it!
