LAWYER I ► devil's avocado...vate..
[Things are getting heated up in both Olympia and Wyver as the month goes on. Matt's been going back and forth between the two (and getting met with more and more contention), and can be found amongst each respective populace, usually in the middle of debates]LAWYER II ► just like highschool debate;
[And by middle of debates, I mean he's trying to mediate them. Rather than take one side or the other, Matt speaks passionately about keeping the peace (getting booed in the process), holding up the truce, and for Wyver and Olympia to trust each other. He's met with a lot of arguing from both sides, usually ganging up on him, and things get a little more heated from the populace's end as he insists that despite each faction's flaws and misgivings, the only way to work through it is together. The crowd's against him, but--- somehow, despite being blind, he notices your presence, a fellow refugee. Whether you're actively part of the belief or just passing by and have no desire to be roped into it, Matt calls out towards you in a loud, clear, voice:]
Excuse me! [Probably, he heard you walking or talking. Either way, he's dragging you into it] What do you think? Do you live here?
[In Wyver, it looks like the debates are reaching the point of loud altercations and outright fisticuffs, especially to refugees who favor Olympia or any sort of Olympia defenders. And Matt, like usual, is in the thick of it. This time, though, his attempts to placate are doing nothing but riling up Wyvernians further, and when a passing Olympian and Wyvernian get into actual fist fight, the blind man, idiot that he is, tries to get in the thick of it]DAREDEVIL I ► more like daredumbass;
Hold on, there's no need to--
[This doesn't work out so great for him. At once, one of the debaters is shoving aside, ripping away his cane. Matt can't exactly break out the Daredevil skillset in such a densely populated spot, so he's basically forced to take the hit -- he tries again to calm them down, and gets kicked and shoved to the ground for his trouble]
[You've got the bad -- or good, maybe -- luck of passing through around this time, and the pair of dark glasses clatter next to your feet while the cane rolls off to the side of you. And apparently, beating up a blind man was a perfect way to vent their frustrations, as they return to arguing while Matt fumbles on the ground for his things]
I'm so sorry --- [People keep walking by, not really caring that he's struggling on the ground and just stepping around him] Have you seen my glasses?
[You could help, or not.]
[In the open world, people are struggling in their own rights. Sure, they may not be facing Olympian or Wyvernian prejudice, in a sense, but they're open to attack in more than one sense and some of them are really struggling. So, a man in black scouts out, guiding the families, fending off attackers -- searching for medical supplies. You can catch him in the act in any of these scenarios and help or hinder him, or maybe you're out here for your own reasons and want nothing to do with this masked weirdo.]DAREDEVIL II ► electric boogaloo;
[Regardless, the hostile wildlife chitters and shuffles around in the night, and a pack of Vlix see you and mark you as easy prey. Whether or not you need the help, this douchebag will suddenly flip in, punching one square in the beak then flipping it over to another one. He growls at you in what sounds like a bad Batman impression:]
It isn't safe. Get back to one of the cities.
[If you venture to the Edrathe Ruins, mount or no mount, you may notice you're not alone. A masked man in all black is making his way in, no torch, no nothing. How can he see? It's a mystery.]WILDCARD;
[He seems to notice your presence just fine, on the other hand, as he holds up a hand to gesture for you to be quiet, as the faint rumbling starts up.]
Do you hear that? It's further away every time it starts.
[How spooky.]
[Matt will be around the openlands, Wyver, and Olympia as himself and also as Daredevil, trying to keep the peace and help people! If none of these prompts work for you OR if you want to do a quests, hit me up by PM and I can write you a custom starter!! I love quests]

Plus, he looks so stylish in black. ]
Sure. [ JJ can whisper!! Give him some credit.
It's cute that Matt wants to look out for the pair of them at least, though JJ doesn't seem the least bit interested in that as he peers up the side of the building from where they're crouched out by the back. (There's a dumpster just a metre away, and it smells.) ]
We can probably get in one of those windows, eh?
no subject
Besides, she totally thought ahead and dressed appropriately for the occasion; her hair, makeup and clothes are completely different from her usual dramatic motif, simple and unnoticeable. At least if she is seen no one who had only seen her once would recognize her from afar.
She nods to acknowledge what Matt said and to agree with JJ, whispering: ] Maybe, if it's unlocked...
[ Now probably isn't an appropriate time to ask about the blindfold look, but she is super curious!! It's also super ironic to her that this little group has one blind person and one person with super sight, so it all balances out. ]
But is it a good idea for us all to go at the same time?
no subject
I'll go in first to make sure the coast is clear.
[To at least make sure the employees are elsewhere. And to make sure thes two aren't in danger]
Can you two climb the window? [Or should be open a door for them?]
no subject
[ Not that JJ minds splitting up, but he is, rather undeservedly, more worried about Misa. He doesn't want to leave her alone in a dark building where she might run into security. JJ might not be much of a fighter, but at least he has enough bulk hold his own.
Turning back to Matt, he grins. ]
I can climb in. If you go first, I can give Misa a boost [ since she's so short ] and then go in last.
no subject
We can cover more ground if we split up, though.
[ She supposes it would be suspicious if she insisted on splitting up, so she doesn't push it. And she has no reason to object to this order of entry, anyway. Slowly, she turns to Matt after staring at the window from afar, blinking. ]
How long should we wait after you? Or do you have a signal we should look for?
no subject
It's then that conversation filters through, disrupting the little meeting that the three of them are currently indulging, and JJ tenses, head jerking toward the sound. They'd already done their best to find a part of the building that saw the least traffic, but it's not like that guaranteed anything. Obviously. ]
I don't think we can wait too long.
[ The voices—one male and one female—seem oddly giddy and casual as they grow louder, and JJ has to wonder for a second if they're even employees. But he doubts that any of them want to wait and find out, so before they can really go over the order of things again, JJ reaches toward the wall with a gloved hand, gripping it so that he can haul himself up onto the window sill of the windows closest to the ground. It doesn't take too much effort to get above the window entirely, moving onto the next and then the next. ]
no subject
[He'd follow suit, but he doesn't want to leave Misa alone. He catches bits and pieces of the conversation the two are having -- it's a couple fooling around, but it would be bad for them to be spotted. He'll give JJ a minute to find an opening, but he turns back to Misa]
Change of plans. I'll carry you up on my back. Once he finds an opening, go in when I get there.
[And he'll crouch to allow her to climb on]
no subject
You're sure you can climb while carrying me?
[ That's impressive, even if she is quite small. Though, she holds on tightly in case the ascent is turbulent, keeping a steady eye on the windows that peered into the building. Thanks to her unnaturally strong eyesight, she could tell that the couple inside were not terribly focused on anything else around them, not to mention that their assumed path led up and away a flight of stairs... it would take a considerable fault on one of their parts to draw their attention. So, why worry? She seems as cool as a cucumber.
Though, looking up from Matt's back up to JJ in front of them does make her a little nervous, just because he doesn't particularly seem like the stealthy type, but she hoped he would pick a good opening, for all their sakes. ]
no subject
And Misa's right in guessing that he's not particularly stealthy, he normally doesn't have much going for him aside for his athletics, but in this instance at least, fear of bad publicity is a good enough motivator to remain carefully under and outside of the view of anyone that might be peering out a window.
Finding one that seems like it would suit their purposes, he carefully pulls a small crowbar (presumably they bought tools??
to help with this beforehand) from the bag on his back. It's a tiny thing that just slides under the window, shimmies a little until...
The window comes open with a slight crack.
It gets JJ ducking down, looking down at Misa and Matt. They're lucky the building is old and no stranger to creaks and groans in the night, and it's not long before JJ is sliding the window open to carefully ease his way in.
And after a few minutes... ]
looks good! misa keep an eye on your phone while climbing, i'll let you know if someone comes by and you guys can't use this window
no subject
[He hears her phone vibrate as he climbs, and asks lowly:]
Was that him?
[They're coming up on the window, regardless. But captain parkour will let her go in first.]
no subject
He says he'll text me if something goes wrong.
[ And, because no such text has been received, when they reach the window that's still cracked open, she slinks in underneath the opening, glad to not be perilously scaling the side of the building anymore. Once inside, she gives a quick look around to make sure that couple is long gone, before stepping aside so there will be room for the other. It seems as though they have a little window of time before any other employees will patrol this section of the hallway, but she stays alert regardless.
And while she waits for Matt to climb in: ]
Which way did you go?
We're in, so we should probably meet up like you said.
no subject
[ Accompanying that is a picture of the door he went in. There's no window, but there is a label that they shouldn't be able to read. There are no other markings, and the room when he'd stepped in had been completely dark. He's doing the best that he can with just the light of his phone, but he doesn't quite dare to use the flashlight in case someone notices, though there aren't any ways to peep in. Maybe they have security cameras?
He's careful as he fumbles around, making out long work desks and tools that he doesn't want to touch out of fear of accidentally cutting off a finger more than leaving traces of his presence.
He continues: ] big room, no light or windows so its hard to see, but i think i saw a flashlight in the hallway. be careful!
no subject
There's a security guard at the other end of the building. He's making his rounds, slowly -- he's slacking. We have time.
[Again, a weirdo. From then on, he'll follow Misa as per JJ's instructions, trailing a little behind just in case]
Where is he?
no subject
If you find anything interesting take a picture
[ She texts back just as Matt catches her shoulder; the fact that he knows the placement of the security is kind of strange to her, but then again, now's not the perfect time to ask about it. She'll count on him to sense if that guy catches up, so she can focus on following on JJ's directions: ]
It sounds like some sort of lab. There should be a heavy door right around here -
[ When they come up to the corner of the passageway, she peeks her head around, watching carefully for any flashlight. From here, she can see that the door is the same as the one in JJ's picture, and that it would take some effort to break into it, much more than her physical strength could afford. ]
But you're going to have to open it. It looks like it might have some sort of auto-lock, but if JJ opened it, I'm sure you can. [ Not that JJ isn't smart(?), but Matt seems to be the most experienced in the art of breaking and entering. ] I can stand watch though! And if someone comes by, I can distract them.
[ She says this with practiced ease while they approach the door, her head turning back periodically not to check on Matt, but to check far behind them for any sign of security. ]
