Now let's skip to the part where Rhys gets locked out for hogging the loo. ]

[ Just going to groan into her hands. She knows better than to tell Abelas what to do. ]

There's one of the traditional robes on my bed. Go borrow it.

[ It's Jyn-sized, so it will definitely be comically small, if it fits at all. ]

[ Which is just Not Acceptable??? Rhys is a stylish and happening business tycoon, not a misfit Raggedy Andy and he wants his clothes. Which means he's sitting there still, stubbornly, until it looks like Jyn at least has her eyes covered. ]

No--this'll just take one second. Keep your eyes closed--Abelas! Open up! I know you can hear me in there...!

[What would be the absolute worst time for someone to walk through the door? If you said, "When you're comically sitting naked in the apartment because someone locked you out of the bathroom where all of the clothes you own are?" you would be at least in the upper teens on that list.

So guess who comes in. It's that one guy, the cute one Rhys was giggling at earlier. This can only end well!]

[And he pauses, takes the whole scene in, closes the door and decides to take full advantage of the comedic opportunity presented him.

At least he closes the door.]

[ "Abelas doesn't do anything that he doesn't want to do" sits on the tip of her tongue, stopped by Zevran's dramatic entrance. At his words, she flushes again, eyes blown wide, meaning she's more flustered than she's been for most of her twenty-something years. She shouldn't even be embarrassed, not when Rhys is the naked one, but Zevran catches her off guard. And Jyn doesn't know him well enough to read him. ]

No. [ once more, with feeling: ] No. I have nothing to do with this.

[ and she shouts: ] Abelas, please!

[ mayday sos come back. the elf guy is your problem and he's Misbehaving. ]

[ Abelas you are the least helpful oh my god!! Jyn was bad enough, but now Zevran is here too and if Rhys were the blushing type that is definitely what would be happening here.

Instead he looks appropriately flustered and annoyed as he moves his hands back quickly in front of himself and turns just slightly away. As if that will help.

Someone kill him this is the literal worst ]

[Maker help you all, he actually looks a bit disappointed. Like, on the one hand, he knew this was just some ridiculous bullshit, but a tiny, tiny part of him hoped.

Anyway, he holds up a bottle as he turns to the kitchen.]

A man has to have some hope. But fear not! I come bearing good news: I found wine.

[ What kind of person is Zevran...

At least he has wine. And provides her with enough time to recover her composure. She tilts her chin up to look at him (and decidedly away from Rhys), unable to hide her interest. ]

[The only cups in the kitchen are some mugs and little handle-less bowls, but he brings out four of them and sets them on the counter.]

Drinking alone is a sure sign that something has gone terribly wrong in your life.

[Then he turns and comes back to the sofa, mugs and bottle in tow, and sits down. He pulls out the cork and starts pouring. ?He hands the first to Jyn.]

Besides, it's far better with friends. Here, Asta. Rhys in a moment.

[ ....Oh my god. Wine. He's drinking wine and sharing it around and talking about orgies while Rhys is stuck buck-naked here. Like, Rhys's ego is generally pretty sturdy when it comes to incredibly embarrassing situations but even he has limits here.

That robe is starting to look really good right now.

(It never once occurs to him that he could probably use his cybernetic hand to break the doorknob lock and open it.) ]

Ohhhhhhohohmygod, it's is on you hear me?? This isn't over--

[ That's to Abelas. Right before Rhys quickly goes to grab actual clothes because being naked any longer while this situation develops is just too much. ]

[He hears. He's had to suffer hearing the entire time.]

[He still didn't care, it was just starting to annoy him.]

[ Finally, Rhys. Her mouth twists into a slight frown, but she accepts the wine all the same. She drank alone during her time on and since Five Points. Zevran isn't wrong about drinking with friends being better.

Are they friends? ]

Thanks. [ a beat. ] Did you steal this?

[His tone is either affronted or mock affronted:

[And he just keeps pouring the bluish-purple wine into mugs. That's neither a yes nor a no, and very pointedly so, but his smile pretty much confirms it. Still, not verbally admitting to anything here.

Rhys' and Abelas' drinks he just sets on what passes for a coffee table and sits back with his own mug. This is going to be the classiest party.]

[ For the record these clothes are entirely unflattering and not nearly expensive enough for him to be wearing in public?? So this is a super-special occasion he hopes no one talks about like, ever.





On the plus side Rhys...looks incredibly normal with them on? Especially since his hair hasn't yet been styled or slicked back. Rather that a snazzy jerk he looks like he could be...anyone in the crowd, really. Don't be too surprised and swoon here Jyn he knows he's a looker but control yourself.



Hes also not going to say anything and just drop himself down on either the opposite end of the couch...or a separate chair entirely. SULKING. ]

[ She cradles her mug close, giving Zevran a pointed look over the rim. ]

I'm hardly a lady.

[ Still, his remark earns an amused twitch of her mouth, mostly obscured by the mug. Two thieves in one house, hm? Double trouble.

The other separate chair's definitely Abelas', so welcome to Jyn's couch™. Be glad that she's tiny and willing to share on this traumatic day, roboboy. All he gets is a sideways smile, definitely brought on by how disheveled he looks, before she returns focus to her wine. Just sippin' in peace. Playing nice — ]

You look cozy, Rhys.

[Aside from the metal arm, yeah, pretty normal. So it's amusing to see him in it, knowing that his hair is probably going to dry that way.

Leaning forward he hands off the third mug toward Rhys with a nod.]

Don't forget to mind the gap.

[He is, of course, referring to the way that the robes wrap around the body. Being a smaller one, Rhys has less leeway than normal before gapping occurs. Sit like a lady, dear.]

[ ESPECIALLY YOU, ABELAS. And Rhys will mind the gap thank-you-very much!! Not because he's a lady but because he is a professional businessman who does not sit with spread legs and flash people unlike some egocentric megalomaniacs, Jack.

He will take the mug though. Being a sourpuss does not mean he has to refuse a free drink. ]

[And guess who decided to emerge just in time to catch that last bit of conversation.

Who managed to bathe and dress himself in the span of about ten minutes. Though he comes out with his armor in hand rather than wearing it, because unlike some people he's considerate enough to realize other people might require the restroom within the hour.

Unaware he has free wine waiting for him, he takes a seat a comfortable distance away from the pack of shemlens, and starts strapping on the armor. And as for Rhy's comment...]

Do not be vulgar, tis unbecoming.

[insurgent]

[ At Rhys' insult, she makes a noise of acknowledgment. As far as she's concerned, her eyes also fell victim to Abelas asserting his dominance, but whatever. Before Rhys can retort, she tips her chin up to Abelas, equally inviting and challenging. ]

Join us for a drink, Abelas.

[ WE'RE GONNA BOND. ]

[Heck yes, bonding. They will bond if it kills them. It might kill a couple of them.

Abelas' mug he nudges toward the correct side of the table, being that he's too far to actually hand the mug off, and also because it's up to him whether or not he participates. And then he rolls the liquid around the inside of his own cup, takes a sip, and then hums. Not too bad.]

You're...unbecoming. So.

[ Rhys flounders a little, and settles for crossing his arms over his chest in a huff. ]

There.

[ Nailed it. He definitely didn't sound loserly there. ]

[He'd address the invitation in a moment, first he had to give Rhys a very disapproving look, just to make certain he was aware that he was being judged... and then keep it on him long enough to make him uncomfortable.

Alright, now onto more important matters, such as the drink. He considers it for a time, then gets up and pulls up a seat for himself, accepting the drink. He even gives Zevran a nod in thanks.]

[ She cradles her mug of wine close with both hands, looking at the liquid for a long moment before breaking the silence. ]

Is this where we attempt to get to know each other? [ They'll be living together for a considerable amount of time, at least. Her mouth quirks, not quite a smile. ] Like in the game on the network.

[ She is, in fact, referring to Lance's birthday post where everyone played "Never Have I Ever." ]

We could, though I admit I'm still not entirely clear on the rules of that one.

[He's been wandering for the past few days--this won't last, and they'll have to find other accommodations eventually. Best to start looking now. Incidentally, that's also how he "found" the wine.]
