❪ introlog #3 ❫ GUERRILLA FORCES.
You have spent the last few days on Thesa Station, taking in the knowledge that your world is no more. Perhaps you've made some friends (or maybe an enemy or two). Either way, you aren't expected to spend all of your time on the Station. El Nysa needs you, after all, and you promised you'd help the planet thrive. Are you ready?
Submit any AC eligible thread of participating in this log's prompts for Two (2) Wyver REP points HERE. JUMP INTO THE DEEP END
As soon as the Natha begin to observe that the new arrivals are beginning to wake, a message goes out to all refugees currently on El Nysa with an unfamiliar ping on their phone.
Hi everyone. It's Sael. The people that were recovered from stasis recently are going to need your help getting to El Nysa. It's not the Teleporter this time, though. I highly recommend that you come back, or you'll miss out on some pretty important stuff. When everyone is gathered aboard Thesa Station, characters may notice that working access to the Teleporter has been blocked. Stepping inside and attempting to teleport back to El Nysa will yield absolutely nothing. Luckily, it isn't long before you're given instructions on how to proceed. Hello everyone. We're doing things a little differently this time around. Darma senses the presence of foreign forces; she says they're distant right now, but we know it won't be long before we'll need your help to protect El Nysa on the spacefront.
Some of you have piloted spaceships or flightsuits before, haven't you? Please lend the others your help and expertise. You'll be flying down to El Nysa to get some practice maneuvering in zero gravity. I encourage you to come back and practice with other people; learning how to work with different personalities is important. We've prepared spaceships for you in the Hangar. For this type of spacecraft, it's important that you truly work together to achieve harmony with your co-pilot. It's the only way to ensure a smooth trip. True to his word, there are plenty of ships waiting to be boarded in the Hangar. Although more than two people can fit in a ship, there are only two main pilot seats. Anyone who's piloted any sort of ship, mecha, or even a car will be able to figure out the controls. But that's not the only thing to figure out. ![]() GET IT TOGETHER. When the ship glides out from the hangar opening, it soon becomes apparent that the stability of the ship is highly dependent on emotion sharing between the two pilots. It is imperative that both parties reach an emotional equilibrium: you must be calm, focused, almost zen in your demeanor. Any sign of distress, anger, or negative emotions will be felt by the ship. Not being able to help each other reach a calm and happy emotional state will result in wild movements, difficulty steering, or malfunctions in the electrical circuitry. Great! Good job! This is kinda boring now, though. Hey guys, think fast! You don't have more than two seconds after his voice fades out of your mind to notice that a wave of massive meteorites are flying directly towards your ship at breakneck speed. How well can you avoid getting hit while maintaining your cool? When you've had enough of being beaten around by meteorites or having to deal with the insufferable personalities of others, the ship will naturally gravitate to land on a particular island in El Nysa. The island that you land on is outfitted with docks and one or two small shacks where a hunter or fisherman could spend their nights on a long hunting expedition, but they don't look like they've been used in a while. It's quickly obvious that this isn't the main city of Wyver, and you have two paths ahead to choose from: cross an old stone bridge to the mainland and continue on foot, or get into one of the available simple rowboats and row your way. The path on land is longer, but safer, while going by water is faster, but more treacherous. Better get going. LAND ON BARBAROUS COASTS ![]() Though the water has been relatively calm on your journey, the rowing has proved to be tiresome for all your party member's arms. There is reprieve if you leave the open water, in a cavern where you can tie your boat to a rock and stretch your legs. If you want to go for a dip, there are naturally curved waterslides in the rock face and platforms of rock jutting out up high perfect for diving/jumping off of. The water is warm and there's dry land; this is the ideal place to rest for the night. ![]() After a long night's rest, good or not, the journey ahead is not far at all. You can see the coastline, and Wyver's walls aren't far behind. However, it begs the question of why your rowboat was so heavily equipped. The back ends of your oars are carved to a sharp point, the net under your seats is too heavy duty for any normal fishing excursion, and you'd do well not to pull the strings wrapped around those canvas balls without throwing them first, unless you want a faceful of gunpowder and a noise like shotgun fire that will make your ears ring. A QUIET PLACE ![]() The jungles outside Wyver's city limits are sprawling and mysterious. Deep in the wilderness there is an innate eeriness, a quiet mysticism that permeates the lush foliage all around you. If you've wandered around Wyver's territories before, you might have some idea of what to expect, but if you're brand new to this world—well, best of luck. ![]()
WELCOME TO WYVER After your trek, whichever way you went, you'll wind up in Wyver! Unlike when the first refugees arrived to Olympia's outpost, there isn't any fanfare this time; you're given a lukewarm welcome and left to your own devices. There are places to see and businesses to be aware of here in Wyver, but other than that, the city is yours to explore. FINAL OOC NOTE

Isabela | Dragon Age 2
[Well...its not anything like a ship she's ever been the head of, but some of it seems familiar at least. Isabela's been fiddling with buttons and knobs here and there, idly turning her wheel this way and that. It's likely this makes the whole thing shake somewhat in which, oops. She's learning okay? She's still getting used to how different everything is in this world after all.]
Some of this is familiar, but the rest is a bit foreign to me. [She shrugs at her partner for good measure.] They want us to work together do they? I can play nice if you can...or naughty, both work for me.
[2. Smooth sailing?]
[Now this, this is a ship that she knows how to control, blessedly without the need of being in sync with someone else to keep it from crashing. This much is comfortingly familiar, and so she's chosen to take the faster route because who doesn't like a bit of danger in their day right? The company is nice too if not slightly nostalgic of days when she'd captained a much larger ship in lawless waters.
She's tossing an oar to the other person in her boat with a grin before turning to face the waters ahead, pushing her own oar through the water to help push the boat along towards where they're heading.]
First time out on the sea? She's a bit of a feisty one but with the right touch she can be a lot of fun to handle. Use that to help row, won't you?
[3. From the Depths (We monster hunter now)]
[A sea beast. Of course there are sea serpents, why is she even surprised. The size of it though is impressive even to her, and if she knows anything about giant beasts they usually make for good coin. So she braces herself on the boat in a fighting stance, both blades in hand (And eternally grateful that they made it with her-) while she looks around for the next place it'll surface from the water.]
Should have known this way would have a catch. Well, might as well have a bit of fun right? Maybe someone will even buy us a round of drinks at the nearest tavern and we can make an exciting story out of it.
[4. Man vs Plant]
[Isabela had fought beasts and monsters in damp moldy caves, traveled sandy beaches, even convinced to go deep underground into The Deep Roads, but this was different. So much green, and the terrain has her grateful for her preference for long boots with the various flora she's stepped on or over since coming onto land. Maybe she's lost in conversation or simply dealing with trying to find her way to the nearest town when a vine creeps down out of seemingly nowhere and snatches up one of the blades from her back. She startles at the sudden loss, turning to face the culprit.]
Hey! That's mine you stupid plant!
[And there she goes, jumping and trying to snatch back her blade from the vine, swiping at it with her other blade and trying to grab it to wrestle it back.
>Help the pirate?]
[5. Welcome to Wyver]
[The city is much different than any place she'd encountered in Thedas, the cavernous size and height of it bringing her to pause and look around for a moment before she continues to explore it. And as is her luck, she eventually runs across a well aged tavern to drop into for a drink. She's on her second or third when she glances over to whoever is sitting closest to her, offering a tilt of the head to the general area.]
So, this is quite the city. What kind of dastardly exciting deeds go on in a place this size?
[6. Wildcard]

Still, he wouldn't complain, he would continue to march forward. Well, row forward anyways.
He's quick to catch the or thrown at him which he gives a short look before turning his gaze back to the clearly piratey looking woman. ]
It's no Aravel but, it has the same principle. Stay in the boat, don't fall in, try not to drown. Though with an Aravel the likelihood of drowning isn't as nearly high.
[ But, here he goes. Bringing the oar into the water and slowly paddling along. This is the correct way, right? He gives the woman a glance asking for affirmation if he is actually rowing this the right way.]
no subject
Well if that's anything like any old boat then yes, I imagine you know the basics. I think you could have your sea legs in no time.
[She nods when she looks back to see him tentatively rowing, though she does pause for a moment to watch him move.] Atta boy. You've got it, just make sure to mind your grip or the water will take the oar from you. Seen many get taken that way.

That would depend on your definition of "at sea", but if you refer to a shemlen contraption such as this, then yes, it is.

Can't say I understand what you mean by shemlen...care to tell a poor girl what it means?
[She looks over at him with a curious glance, also doing her part in pushing the boat forward. She's not one to leave all the work to someone else at least, she cares about the performance and maintenance of a good boat as much as she does being the captain of one.]

Aranea wasn't competing with Isabela for drinks, she stopped in with sweat on her brow for a cool drink — her bare arms dirty with fresh scrapes that were slowly (as in, within the next few hours) healing themselves. She enjoys a cool citrus drink, the alcohol stinging her throat with a satisfying smack of her lips.
Isabela's voice catches her attention like a siren's call, her eyes shifting over a few bar stools over. ]
Mmmm, dastardly isn't really my thing. Exciting, though — hm. There's some gambling in Old City, some tropical getaways in the Undergrowth and some of the best bars on this block. [ A shrug. ] And a more... adult district west of here, if that's what you're into.
ooh la la
She didn't of course expect her company to be so dashing, and it's icing on the cake really. Shallow is as shallow does anyway. She glances the other woman's way with a smile and a raise of her glass in acknowledgement.]
Oh? I do enjoy exciting, especially of the questionable sort. [Especially legally questionable. Just how she rolls really. She stirs her drink in thought, taking in everything from the day.] I'm into a lot of different things, depends on the time of day. Not that it's entirely related, but I'm guessing there's brothels and the like in the more adult areas right?

[ Hey, if there's one thing he's good at it, it's following instructions. Or...listening to them, at least. How well he executes remains to be seen, but he's got a respectable pair of arms on him, so he catches the oar when it's tossed to him and dips the flat end into the water. Rowing. Okay. How hard can it be? ]
You, uh...you seem pretty comf around the water.
[ She even called it "a bit of a feisty one"...you have to be a seafarer to get away with things like that. (Is she a pirate? He really hopes she's a pirate.) ]
Got any other senseational tips I should know?
no subject
[Isn't he just the cutest. Eager she can work with, but cute? Even better, and it helps She'd missed being on the water, and even a short boat ride like this is enough make her pleased after earlier affairs.]
Me and the sea are old friends, we have quite the history. [Over ten years in fact. They were Good Friends.] I'm afraid to admit I haven't been answering her call as much without a ship to sail, but a small boat like this makes me kind of nostalgic.
[Oh, but she catches that pun with a laugh. Absolutely adorable. Why can't all the men she encounters on the sea be this cute?] Well, mind your grip for starters. All too easy to get carried away and get your oars swept away or worse, stuck in the ground. That'll just end up with us dead in the water, quite a common fishue.

[ The moment he boards this vessel he flashes Isabela a quick smile — the way she walks, with that sway, she can handle herself on a boat. Good. He's not as well-adapted, but he can manage for a short trip. At least the first time out here one of them isn't going to be unreliable. ]
[ He has his own knife in hand, his weight a counterpoint to hers; the waves are rocking the boat. ]
Sounds like fun. I'll watch this side for bubbles.

I like the way you think. I mean, what's life without a good challenge? [Even with her senses sharpened and eyes watching the water constantly she takes the moment to give him a smile of her own, appreciating his bulk and good humor.] Looks it'll a big one, whatever it is.
[And sure enough the bubbles do come after a few more minutes, of which there are a lot before the head of the beast itself surfaces with a cry and just missing them with sharp teeth glistening before diving underwater again, movements much more noticeable.]

That is the plan. Nothing to worry about; we'll just take it one step at a time. Easy as driving a... mm. Did they have them, where you were? Cars, or... or personal water craft, or, well, or anything, I suppose?
[ Let's hope so, because they're already inching closer and closer to the bay door by the minute. ]

[It's strange to be in a vessel where you can feel the other person's emotions, which must be strange in return when Isabela has always been a person to act first and think later. If there's anything to be sensed from her, its mostly curiosity at the helm as she looks around at everything.]
I do appreciate the help though, well besides the fact that we have to know what we're doing to get anywhere. This is all sort of advanced for me. [There's a set of handles that look reminiscent of a wheel in front of her that she notices, and she places her hands on them before looking over to her companion.] Well, what's the first step to getting out of here? I will be your faithful student.

effort has to be made to avoid letting it go down the wrong tube when he finds himself nearly choking on it. why? because he's suddenly approached by a stranger. all he had known beforehand was that the door to the bar opened once, followed by a pair of footsteps that brought this woman straight to the bar where he sat. before she even managed to get a word out to him, — if that is, in fact, what she was choosing to do — the door opens again and it's multiple pairs of feet that follow. along with the noise is a variety of curse words and mumbles. they didn't sound happy.
when Bigby glances over to the woman, he has a brow perked. he doesn't like where this is going already. ]
... Uh. Hey?
Awwww Ye
[She speaks in the smooth voice she always does, if not playing the flirtation up a little for theatrics. It's mostly believable, if not for the edge in her eyes and the way she leans forward as if to make herself less obvious.
(It was inevitable that she'd end up in some sort of trouble. It's almost familiar to back in the alleys of Lowtown in Kirkwall when she'd come across other raiders and smugglers thinking their britches were larger than they really were, too cocky and underestimating while thinking larger numbers were better than skill. The only thing stopping her from knocking the group of men looking for down a few pegs is the lack of reputation in this city, the lack of contacts and networks to rely on like she used to have. Everything is too new, and its better to lay low until she has more stable footing.)
The look she gives him is a silent plea to play along, to help her blend in as she places a hand over his wrist and offers a coquettish smile.]
