It's not like he was able to buy a huge bouquet - all he has are a few lilies of various colors, carefully chosen, wrapped up in modest brown paper and a little glass vase in a bag to place them in. Thankfully the infirmary wasn't far. He'd pay Yona a visit and then buy something small to eat. Eating was something he needed to remember to do more often, lest he be scolded again.
A few steps away from the flower shop lead him down the main street, and it's there that he spots a familiar face sporting a flower much like the one's he's carrying. Zero...it had been awhile since he'd seen her.]
Miss Zero?
SLAMS HANDS DOWN we're doing this
On some level, Yona is glad that she's moved to the clinic already; it would have been unfair to put the responsibility for caring for her on Slaine. On the other, she doesn't like not being in her own house (although that house doesn't yet feel like home, either).
She's of two minds about it.
When Slaine stops by the clinic that day, he won't find Yona resting in her bed, which is, uh, not that great. But if he pays close attention, he'll hear a slight rustling under the bed.
...sure enough, if he looks, he'll see her huddled down under there. Awkward!]

...Yona?

[She's a little more pale than before, and it seems she's lost a little weight (being sick will do that to you), but... she seems the tiniest bit more energetic than the last time he saw her, at least?
Yona brings a finger up to her lips.]
I'm hiding. Don't tell him I'm here, okay?

[Forgive him Yona, you're going to have to explain a bit.]

He needs Help.]
Does it need an antenna?

What does?

[See, this is how Keith communicates with people. Just talk out loud, hope a familiar face shows interest - or even a not-familiar one. The former's preferable.]
I'm trying to set something up to catch sounds from space.

VISITING YONA
[But he's drawn out of his thoughts when he enters the room and sees a certain fair-haired boy moving to stand from where he'd been seated at her side. Yona, it seems, it still asleep.]
[Of course, he's seen this kid around a bit by now, for all the times he snuck in here as a dog. But this will be his first time actually meeting him face to face!]
[And what better way than to unintentionally sneak up behind him, patting him on the shoulder as he looms over him.]
Ahh, I see she's sleeping rather peacefully today.
no subject
He's tall, looming even, towering over Slaine as he casts his gaze upward. He's never seen this man before, a sense of unease washing over him. What did he want? Why was he here? What business did he have with Yona?
Then again, Yona probably knew many people here, considering the kind of person she was. It's not his place to get defensive. Too bad he can't help it. Anxiety and nervousness has been beaten into him, even if he suppresses them well enough.]
She is, yes.
no subject
[But with Yona here, asleep or not, he's going to be putting on his usual kind facade he uses around her. Meaning that spooky looking face is gonna go from low-key Dracula to kind old man in two seconds flat.]
Ah, what a relief! The last time I stopped by, I'd heard she was having a rough time of it, so I let her be.
You must be a friend of hers, yes?
no subject
[Ever polite and respectful, despite his unease, Slaine introduces himself to the middle-aged looking man. Why Yona had a guy his age for company he doesn't know...but it's not like he has any right to judge either. Maybe he shouldn't judge him so harshly.]
She is.
[Which Mephisto probably already knows, having seen the two teens interact while masquerading as a dog.]

JAE-HA
That's what Slaine notices as soon as he exits the clinic, hesitating to step out from under the building's overhang and down the steps onto the street. His visit with Yona this evening had gone well enough. He'd brought her a new set of flowers to brighten up her room and a few butter tarts to sate her ever ravenous sweet tooth. She'd been upset when he had to leave and truthfully he felt the same. There was a deep, seated guilt that had formed over the weeks, over her feeling ill and not being able to do much about it. All he could do was keep her company when he could each day and bring her little surprises, letting her hold his hand whenever she seemed to need the reassurance. Today her skin hadn't felt all that clammy. Maybe she was getting better.
The smile he reserves for her is gone as soon as he'd made it half way down the hallway, replaced instead with a tired, hollow look once he's let the clinic door shut behind him. He really should've brought an umbrella...but then again he didn't exactly own one either, did he? Resigning himself to a soggy fate he pulls away from the building and down its front steps, boots hitting puddles as he begins his trek back "home".]
no subject
At the very least, this boy doesn't seem like a bad guy.
So, when he steps out into the rain, it only takes a few seconds before a gentle tap of a boot hitting the ground behind him is the only warning before an umbrella is opening over Slaine's head. The man holding it is pretty soaked himself, though, but he's got a hood up to cover his hair.]
You'll get sick yourself if you don't come prepared for weather like this. [Hi]
no subject
...I don't have an umbrella.
[Is he taking pity on him? He must look pretty pitiful then, in that case.]
no subject
[It seems overly friendly, he knows, and that's a little weird, so he's quick to add on:] It's the least I can do for you keeping my dear Yona company.
[For now, though, he insists on holding it over Slaine's head for him, his own body much more in the rain. It can't be helped when he's a tall noodle, but since he's soaked anyway, it makes no difference. He was the one jumping around.]
So, who are you?

LANCE
So much so he's dragged himself over to a bulletin board that's set up in the middle of town, staring up at the various mercenary jobs that have been tacked to it. It's obvious even from a distance, what with the way he holds himself, that he's miserable. Dressed in pants and a simple grey cardigan, he's sporting a rather fresh black eye, along with a split lip and bruised cheeks, all from being socked in the face by Hak after having set Yona free. His entire being is sore - Hak hit rather hard - but it was no worse than taking Count Crutheo's cane to the face or gut.
All the jobs he's read through so far have been things he'd have no means of accomplishing. This was just a waste of time, wasn't it? Maybe he'd have a better chance at applying to work at a bakery or do random odd jobs in the market?]
no subject
he makes a few soft sounds in the back of his throat, one hand coming up to curl around his chin in consideration. ]
Man, [ he says around a little laugh, not fully glancing slaine's way just yet, ] whatever happened to simple dog-walking, huh?
no subject
...People pay others to walk their dogs?
[Sure, Slaine might have spent the first eleven years of his life on Earth, but he didn't exactly have a normal upbringing. It sounds ridiculous. Why have a dog if you weren't going to walk it yourself?]
no subject
in any case, it's fine, it's fine; wyverns were probably already convinced people from olympia were weird as heck. ]
Oh yeah, loads of times. [ he doesn't seem put off by slaine's question; indeed, he seems quite happy that he's even engaging. ] Dogwalkers make pretty sweet bank, actually. Since it's mostly rich people that hire you anyway.

WWE SMACKDOWN
The window he heard her from is open and low enough that after a yell to confirm it really was her, he clambered inside, complexion growing even more pale at the sight of her tied down to a bed. Her begging to set her free has him instinctively rushing over, stomach twisting as his fingers make quick work of knots. The sight of her here, held like this, it's horrifying to him, and as soon as he frees her she's bolting out the very window he'd come in. He moves to follow her, fingers gripping onto the windowsill as he puts pressure on his palms in a bid to hoist himself over the ledge.]
L-Lady Yona, wait-!
wyver - before the cure;
Now it's early in the morning, and there's a faint light starting to shine through the window. She shifts a little in her sleep, then groans as her eyelids flutter open. It's too early to be awake...
But... wait.
Does she smell something?]
...Slaine?
[She's gotten used to him being there when she wakes up; it's his name she calls first thing, her voice a little soft as she begins to shake off her slumber.]
no subject
Good morning, Lady Yona. I made you breakfast.
no subject
[This shouldn't be a surprise to her, either. It sort of is, though, and her gaze wanders to the plate of food before trailing up to his face.]
Did you make some for yourself too?
